You know, I bought a copy of the Varese Club issue. Never opened it. It sat on a shelf for maybe five years, The score meant NOTHING to me. But I tell ya what- the hundred bucks I made selling it on the Bay of E did. I think I shall order five of these....
Absolutely fine work on the cover art. Let's keep Titus working on these - they're amazing!
Who is Titus? A member here? How did they wind up making artwork for LLL?
Jim Titus is a graphic designer and has served as art director on a number of LLL titles. I think the first one he did was Human Target. He's also worked on Home Alone, First Knight, Breakdown, and a handful more.
A surprisingly fast seller, great news for LaLa. Sure the score is cheesy but, if you like Horner's rumbling synth urban action, it is a great release. It's selling so fast, I won't be able to afford it, but I do have the Varese, so that's fine. Grab this one folks while you can. Lots of fun
If only Newman and Friedhofer could sell like this...it's a different soundtrack collector out there.
I acknowledge that this is not particularly a good Horner score but I have bought it for pure and utter nostalgia. I remember seeing this film as a teenager and would have loved to have owned the soundtrack about 20 years ago. It would have been a dream come true to walk into HMV, Virgin or Tower Records in the 80s and find Commando in the soundtrack section. Remember back then there was no internet - so the only way you had to find out what soundtracks were out was to talk to the people in stores. I missed out on the VS release and am glad that La La Land released it.
