What other recent Disney titles have been download-only? "Toy Story 3" and "A Christmas Carol" come immediately to mind. You can bet that I'm not going to spring for the downloads of those two anytime soon.

Now assuming they can access something other then the film catalog at DISNEY, let's think outside of the box for a moment....

Let's talk about doing a compilation of scores written for the THEME PARKS.

Some of the top titles of my own personal list from this catalog

AMERICAN JOURNEY by Basil Poledouris

CAPTAIN ENO by James Horner...

SOARING by Jerry Goldsmith.

And I'm know there are many others by Bruce Broughton, John Debney etc.

Now that would be AWESOME.

Excellent idea! I'd also add to the list...

SPACE MOUNTAIN by Michael Giacchino

STAR TOURS by John Williams arr. Michael Giacchino (though perhaps the Lucasfilm involvement might cause a problem here... but MG did music for the line as well as the ride itself, so there should be a few tracks at least)

Just give me a release of the Touchstone title AN INNOCENT MAN and I'll be happy.

... I will smile contently in the face of those who have wasted their time on wishful thinking. You're just setting yourself up for immense disappointment.

Suck it.

No need, since you conveniently omitted the first part of the sentence, which said "Nothing would please me more than if it IS them".

So glad to finally give out the applause.

How about the recent Star Tours in the mix? But there is a lot of great material now potentially open.

A lot of the Disneyland park music was covered with the 6 disc Music of Disneyland set and the 4 disc New York World's Fair set. But there's also some stuff they missed -- like all of California Adventure (which encompasses Soarin', Muppets 3D, Bug's Life, Toy Story Mania, Monsters Inc. ride, California Screamin', Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and others. In addition to all of the stuff from the Florida parks.

I was at Disney World in May and the current parks release (Four Parks, One World 2-disc album) includes Soarin', so that has been released.

At the top of my wishlist is a "Complete Sherman Brothers at Disney" boxset. All the songs from the parks, the ones for Annette, the Tinpanorama songs, scrapped songs that never made it, everything, plus demo recordings.

But excluding the common material such as Mary Poppins and Jungle Book that has or warrants a separate release, of course.

Its my wish Intrada would just say what specifically the license covers. wink
I don't think they would be ruining the surprise factor or stepping on confidential licensing agreements if they said what they can and can't release genre wise.

The "Star Tours" soundtrack will most likely turn up on the next official Disneyland park album, which seems to be released every couple years or so. The one I have from 2001 includes the full soundtracks for "Star Tours" and the "Indiana Jones Adventure," so I'm sure the new "Star Tours" will be included on the next addition.

As for my wish list: Robin Hood, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and extended/complete reissues of Mulan and The Rocketeer are at the top. smile

Those CDs tend to just include the music from the ride. For example, for Soarin' Over California Goldsmith recorded some variations for the line (not on the CD, but as a fully paid up member of the Cult of Jerry I'd love to have 'em!), as did Giacchino for Star Tours. It would be nice to have a collection aimed at film music fans that focused on the work of some of these top composers and included all the music they recorded, rather than just the standard theme park CDs. For example, the original Star Tours and Indiana Jones soundtracks were basically just using the existing Williams music arranged to fit the ride/stunt show, but on the new Star Tours Giacchino has taken Williams' themes and given them a new spin with unusual arrangements. Watch this video to see:

It'd be nice to have all these cues, both for the ride and the line.
