I liked both CDs, but - as I expected - the Frontiere disc was my favourite by far. That man surely did have 'da funk' didn't he?

Thank you FSM for the expanded soundtrack for this blaxploitation classic! If you already have Warner UK's CD, it's still worth upgrading for the extra tracks. FSM, can we now have Black Belt Jones? No, sorry, there are no surviving masters other than the two Dennis Coffey tracks that were on a WB Records single. Lukas

Warner Archive also just released The Power (which I've been waiting for forever) and Atlantis, The Lost Continent.

I was on the fence about these soundtracks but I've been enjoying the Shaft anthology so much, I gave in and ordered this CD set as a chaser. What a great release! I can't decide which soundtrack I like better, Cleopatra Jones or The Casino of Gold. Another first rate release from FSM! Cool baby, Cool!

Is the one available on 2CD SoulJazzRecords release one of two tracks? Yes. The Soul Jazz Records set has the "Theme From Black Belt Jones," which was one side of the 45. The other side of the 45 was the "Love Theme From Black Belt Jones."

Too bad about those masters but...you can't have it all!!

I've been listening again to Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold and it's an hour of pure, funky 70's Frontiere. The track 'Catch Cleo/Car Crash' is about as close as Frontiere could get to imitating the Schifrin Enter the Dragon sound. Excellent stuff from Mr Frontiere

Great music there, Bob. Is the first part of that clip the cue which Simon mentioned (in 2011)? It does seem to lean heavily (and joyfully) on the Schifrin sound of ENTER THE DRAGON... or perhaps Simon himself could answer that. Simon?
