There is a special place in hell for this movie as far as I am concerned. Not only was it about the worst Robin Hood movie ever, it was ridiculously popular while The Rocketeer, an awesome movie which came out the same summer, was all but ignored. That is a crime against humanity!!!!! The score to RH-PoT, however was very good. I enjoy listening to it from time to time to this day. I would definitely snap up an extended version were it made available. Ha! Nice to know that I'm not the only one that will forever link these two films and for the same reason. (Don't forget that T2 opened the week after.) I went and listened to all of my Kamen scores today. Wow this is great. Boy that movie is awful.

There's more than just what was heard within the film. There was more recorded. Two hours and eleven minutes of score. Kamen: Quote: "As far as I know, nearly everybody who could orchestrate in L.A. was visiting me and taking pieces of parser away. I also had people helping me with take-downs [transcribing previously written, recorded, or sequenced music] and people helping me rework cues for different sections of the score. Then, unbelievably, while I'm working on this film with two weeks to go, they're still cutting the damn thing. They switched reel one and reel two, and I had written a symphony for reel one. I had to rescore it. We brought people up here with dulcimers at four in the morning. Everything that could happen happened." So, if and when we get thi score, we have a previously UNHEARD "symphony" for our ears. From a book. And now I know why Randy Newman doesn't get more work: his first request is a minimum of ten weeks to do a score. Hollywood will barely give you one week. Kamen had three weeks, and over 15 orchestrators. I would assume he wasn't the first composer on the film. The interview was up at www.runmovies.eu (home of Soundtrack! and Cinemascopre), but they've had a site overhaul and a lot of stuff went down; it's slowly being put back up. So, this particulkar interview isn't up again, yet.

My understanding was that La La Land Records is doing the re-mastering for this epic score. I believe it was “hinted” at during the HOOK release. (24th March 2012) They talked about Michael Kamen, and played the opening titles, and it did sound phenomenal. You can listen to it at this link: http://www.jwfan.com/?p=2588 The part where they talk about focusing on Michael Kamen starts a tiny bit after the 8 minute mark, and then you’ll hear The Robin Hood Theme, a shame that I believed this interview was a hint that the score IS GETTING RELEASED – if it is…. Then why hasn't it been released yet? They say they are looking forward to doing more, and the opening of Robin Hood gets played….. well……? I believed that the Complete Score is not far off. However, it does disappoint me – that we still have not seen it released. Any chance "this" Christmas perhaps? MV? Your feeling of false hope might have been misinterpreted, sorry. I included the Robin Hood Overture as it fit our conversation of the moment and Michael's comment re the Disney Logo usage. There is Michael Kamen coming, as Matt & Michael said, just not necessarily that score. Please remember their comment re the 90's being a 'black hole' when it comes to finding elements ;-)

I'm having one hell of a time finding it, so I don't have it handy, but over at the Intrada forum, about 2011/2012, either Doug or Roger made a comment about upcoming releases in the works that gave enough information to narrow it down. I think I narrowed it down to like ten titles, and this was one of them. As I recall, something like three or four titles from that list, were coming from Intrada. Maybe somebody here can relocate my post. It was also one of those two years, where MV said there were "loads" of Kamen scores coming. EDIT: I found it -- thankfully I had the good sense to posted in the "Upcoming CDs" thread at maintitles.net. Posted July 20, 2012 at Intrada: As some of you may have noticed, starting with Elmer Bernstein's RAMPAGE, we've released several Warner Bros. projects over the last year or so. In fact, another Warner/Intrada project hits this coming Tuesday, July 24. And for you folks who always want sneak peeks, amongst our Warner projects currently in production are titles mentioned in this very thread. We'll all miss the FSM trailblazing that was done with Warner and Rhino but Warner is still here and Rhino is still here and we're still here and even Lukas is still here... so be patient, follow Intrada and find yourselves rewarded in good time. --Doug
Here's what I said: Okay, I'll save you the time. You see the bolded part, which I did? Here is a list of titles from that thread which have not been released yet: "Fandango" Complete "Harry Potter" scores (mentioned as a catch-all) "Robinhood: Prince of Theives" "Lethal Weapon" films "Beyond the Poseidon Adventure" "The Outlaw Josey Wales" "The Miracle" (Bernstein) So more than one title from that above list, is in the works from Intrada. My educated guesses: The two Feilding's and "Fandango" -- based on their relationship with Silvestri. Robinhood seems more like LLLR territory. The "Lethal Weapon" scores could be that mystery 5CD box coming from LLLR. I think somebody, possibly MV, said there was some problems getting the Potter scores out. Possibly "The Miracle" could be Intrada. So, I nailed "Fandango". I was right about "The Miracle". Intrada said they are not doing TOJW. They did "Beyond the Poseidon Adventure" So, we now know the Potter scores are hands off, so if the trend continues, I suspect we'll see the other Kamen titles from Intrada eventually.
