The real issue is about priority. Do you think that there were more requests for 21 Jump Street than there were for Air Force One? Why is that the real issue? What does this release have to do with "Air Force One"? You do realize that any label has several projects in motion at any given time. Some take longer than others. Sometimes, people around here act like the label producers go into a room with tapes of all scores and choose them like you'd choose ice cream flavors. That's not how it works. As it happens, I don't think I'm interested in this particular release (never saw the series, but I will check out the samples because I have liked other Peter Bernstein scores). But there are many, many scores you might not care about that I'd certainly prioritize over more "Air Force One," a score I've never particularly yearned for more of. Regardless of what I want or what you want, Varèse is a business, and they release what they can when they can, based on personal passion, personal relationships, and costs relative to projected sales. So why are we debating any of this?

SchiffyM: If your goal is to live in a state of perpetual irritability, then by all means hop on board here and protest that a CD comes from a redundant line, whatever that is.
Boggan's series of disingenuous comments ... This isn't one or the other; you created a false set of choices. Actually, you've become a poster child for option #1, although you'll have to share the honor. NK

Now I know where Johnny Depp came from. I seriously didn't know. If that's the case your mind will be blown when you you watch the first Nightmare on Elm St. MV

I saw the announcement on Facebook and got a rush of nostalgia as soon as I saw that brick wall. My grin turned into a big smile when I saw it was a 2 disc set. This show was super-popular for a brief moment, and then it disappeared almost completely until those recent movies came out. My hazy memories involve a super-clean high school, über-handsome students (just a little too old to be in high school), and a whole %@#&load of hair gel. This is what the 80s aspired to look like. Between the bemused fuzzies I have for the show and that I like Peter Bernstein, I am pretty jazzed about this release. So I logged on here to see what people might recall about these scores and instead discovered… this thread. It's just… weird.

Someone didn't like a release and talked smack on the label? Oh boo hoo, out come the pink hats to defend the crippled label and find that safe place because someone triggered them with a different opinion. This is a joke, right? A series of reactionary talking points strung together nonsensically as parody? Says the guy who's worn the biggest, pinkest hat of the forum for years. Ah. So not a joke. I'm glad you admire my big pink hat, at least. Just so I understand it correctly, your point is that the entitled babies whining endlessly that this is a release they don't personally want, and what if it's delaying something they do want?, and that it comes from a redundant, misnamed line… those are the courageous truth-tellers. And anybody who calls bullshit on them for being ignorant, spoiled imbeciles… they're the namby-pamby SJWs? If you say so. And with that, to the great relief of Mr. Sones (to whom I apologize), I and my pandas are officially done with this thread about "21 Jump Street."

Josh, you took the words out of my mouth. What...happened? I get it: We Hear You is kinda a weird name for this series. Who cares? Peter made clear in the past that this series would not include expansions of in-perpetuity titles. This is a neat release. Can't we all just be glad more Peter Bernstein is being released out into the world? Yeah yeah, we know everyone wants his Ewok scores expanded instead. You think Varese doesn't want to put them out? They might be Intrada territory only now, for all we know! There are probably tons of complications we have no idea about. I think somebody else said it's not really either/or. This was apparently doable now, and if it's worth it to Varese to do, why not? At least wait for some sound clips before getting negative, perhaps? Yavar

Solium, for you, I am breaking my self-imposed ban (which nobody believed anyway). Obviously, anybody can disagree with anybody about anything on this board. But wouldn't it be nice if it were about substance? Instead, it's one complaint after another – I didn't want this, nobody I know wanted this, why does it even exist? And why do they have this series of CDs in the first place? And why does it have this name? And the point is priorities, and this shouldn't have been their priority! I'm sorry if it came off as hostile, which was not my intent (until my previous post, obviously). I think if you read through my posts in this thread, maybe I was a bit acerbic, but my only point was why are people nitpicking this thing and this label to death? And then, for that, I was accused of being a triggered pink-hat retreating to some safe space. And yes, that irked me. Obviously. When I see what's going on in the world, and the seemingly insurmountable problems we face, I look at this board – where we've all come because we share a passion for music just because it's been written to accompany movies – and see that even we have to constantly pick fights with each other, and it makes me worry for the fate of the world.

I look at it this way, over the years I have read here and on other site the wants of more Peter Bernstein scores to be released. Varese found that they had access to release 21 Jump Street and are releasing it. Yes, it is not the Ewok scores some of us want (some of the first movies my father showed me), but I will check them out, because I know nothing about these scores and I love the scores of him that I have heard. Just pass on it if you are not interested, I am just hoping it is not released in a cardboard brick wall box! *Edited* I just listened to the above links to the score, yeah...definitely not like the Ewoks.
