Obviously, no reason my preference should trump Jeyl's. But I have absolutely no interest in listening to sound effects, and since four CDs have finite capacity, for me personally it would be a shame to take up space with them.

It's not like I'm asking for some random zaps or swooshes be thrown around at random. I just have a particular interest in hearing that Warp Drive/Plasma Bolt Incoming effect in it's full glory.

I'm pretty sure that that sequence in on Alan Howarth's CD.

https://www.amazon.com/Real-Hollywood-Sound-Effects-Howarth/dp/B000R00G8E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1516731812&sr=8-1&keywords=alan+howarth+sound+effects

Track 8? Good stuff.

There are a lot of Trek Movie-era sounds on this CD (under different names).

Love it.

I have no specific episodes or individual cues that I need to have. What I WOULD like is a 2 disc Greatest Hits collection across the Star Trek spectrum (movies and TV) on SACD in both Stereo and 5.1 Multichannel. Actually, I would prefer DVD-Audio since graphics and videos could be included, but I'll take SACD all the same. Give us high resolution audio. If you're not going to give us physical discs, then how about High-Rez FLAC or DSD digital files. Love to have something other than 16-bit, 44.1 kHz.

Although you can't hear all of the music in this clip - I'd love to have the Dennis McCarthy music from Time's Arrow Part 2 - where Picard and Guinan meet for the first time.

Also would like to double down on the request for the "Picard's message through time" track from the same episode requested earlier in the thread.

Jeyl, I hope you didn't take offense at my post.

Oh, no SchiffyM. I’m not offended by your post. But I do find myself a little irritated regarding some replies that have been made about my suggestion. Particularly how everyone is recommending this track to me.

Track 8: Time Warp Acceleration from the 'Real Hollywood Sound Effects' album.

Problem? THAT'S NOT IT. That sound was used for the wormhole sequence in TMP, not the warp drive/plasma bolt incoming sequences. The fact that Lukas just embedded it in his post felt like a slap to the face. Almost akin to when Neil told everyone that TWOK's 'Epilogue (original version)* / End Title' track sounded exactly the same as the one with Spock's voice over even though it clearly wasn't.

And I know this may sound weird, but I have listened to all of the Real Hollywood Sound Effects album before the 50th Anniversary Collection was a thing. What little of that sound effect that I've been suggestion 'is' on the album in the track 'Starship Bridge Ambience/ Warp-Out', but no where near containing the whole sequence. Hence why I suggested it's inclusion on the 50th Anniversary thread and now this thread so we could get a chance to hear a more complete representation of that sequence.

Jeyl, no slap in your face was intended.

However if it is possible to issue one now, please sign me up.

I need this like a hole in the head.

Lukas

Hey now! A hole in the head might work, according to Egon.

  • Enterprise: Minefield (2x3/30) (5:01 — 10:52) David Bell
Action and suspense (awesome), then dialogue music (okay).

  • Enterprise: Dead Stop (2x4/31) (35:45 — 40:20) Dennis McCarthy
Action-packed climactic action cue for the episode, with some real thunderous moments.

    Some more Enterprise Chattaway:

"The Seventh", specifically the action climax starting at 37:30ish-40:15. Some very interesting electronics in the second half of the cue.

"Bounty" 33:00-35:00, naked T'Pol, very cool piano-heavy segment when she's fleeing.

"Vanishing Point" 31:40-40:45. Enterprise often called for very lengthy final act climaxes and Chattaway in particular tended to deliver with those. The last three minutes in particular are quite exciting.

"The Shipment" 27:00-30:30. Very good action scoring here for two different scenes.

How about I just accept your apology? In the immortal words of "Joliet" Jake Blues,

"Ah, this list doesn't mean anything. They're just requests."

  • Enterprise: Judgment (45/2x19) (7:20 — 10:41) Velton Ray Bunch
Captain Duras' testimony at Archer's trial. Tense build-up with a big brassy action crescendo.

  • Enterprise: The Breach (47/2x21) (40:35 — 41:54) Jay Chattaway
Episode tag; Phlox sends a letter to his estranged son.

Thank you for allowing us to participate in building this set again... I don't have Netflix, but I have Amazon Prime. I assume the timing in the episodes is the same...

    Star Trek: The Next Generation:

"Firstborn" 36.36-38.03 (scene where Duras sisters reveal future pregnancy to Worf and stopping future Alexander from killing young Alexander). It's a motif that appears in later TNG that I don't think has ever really been captured well on disc. This was also the track that I believe Marina Sirtis may have conducted in the special “Journey”s End: The saga of Star Trek: The Next Generation”

Additionally, end credits from "Firstborn" because it has the extended type ending as opposed to the quick chop ending. It's difficult to explain, but it has never appeared on CD. And for that matter any end credits variations on DS9 and Voyager. Thank you!

Sorry, but there is NO bad and un-wanted cue in "Silent Enemy". I guess I'll have to wait for some other label to issue the whole thing and end up double-dipping on some cues.

    Requests for TNG:

    TIME SQUARED
    18:38 Visual Record
    32:40 Investigate
    36:40 Escape Attempt

    THE ENSIGNS OF COMMAND
34:20 I sincerely hope so / Sheliak face off / Aqueduct

    THE ENEMY
    12:30 Distress Call
    16:31 Surface / neutrino / LaForge down
37:25 We found it! / Romulan face off
01:09 Surface scout (broadcast version) I know that's a lot to ask, but for some reason the broadcast version seems way more haunting than the previously released version

    THE VENGEANCE FACTOR
    11:10 Ambush!

    THE MOST TOYS
    01:08 Data's death
    12:37 Memories

    REDEMPTION PART II
    01:25 Klingon Battle
    33:35 Strategic moves

    FRAME OF MIND
    15:00 Why am I here ?
    16:42 Creepy corridor
    29:40 Reflection Therapy
    35:30 Fake rescue

    SAMARITAN SNARE
    19:05 Captured (short but intense)
35:22 Gateway to heroic salvation / this man is dying
    38:37 Countdown
    29:05 What do you want?!

    Thanks for considering smile

    David

I have three requests from Voyager.

    Virtuoso (Season 6, Episode 13)

Dio, che nell'alma infondere (Solo) 9:09-9:35
Dio, che nell'alma infondere (Duet) 19:37-20:02

If I had to choose between the two, I would go with the duet.

Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy (Season 6, Episode 4)
La donna è mobile (Voyager Version) It starts the episode.

If I had to choose one of the three, I would go with La Donna è Mobile because the variation singing about Tuvok going through pon farr is too comical to pass up.

Oh man...another STAR TREK request..How many releases are there!???

    I just don't get it...
well we had this discussion more than enough I know.
I guess there are different approaches to music listening experiences. The ones who can't get enough of the same stuff and themes over and over again and the ones who are longing for totally unreleased stuff and new listening experience.
Whatever sells most of course ..and that might be indeed STAR TREK etc.
And if good sale numbers lead to some unreleased silver and golden nuggets..its OKsmile

  • Enterprise: Borderland (80/4x4) (11:44 — 12:27) Dennis McCarthy & Kevin Kiner
Short but inspiring cue as the Enterprise launches from space dock.

Concord Music BUYS Varese Sarabande 2/7/18

Think Concord would be more willing to give allow a release of the Spock to Spock track than Varese?
