Steiner fans - and beyond - will hopefully be very excited about our forthcoming release.

Criswell predicts........BEYOND THE FOREST!

I did think of this. But is this a BIG announcement? Would this appeal to non-Steiner fans?

Maybe Ray is just teasing us with "big" and "beyond."

Bette Davis fans maybe? I suppose it could be THE 'BIG' SLEEP or SO 'BIG.' For the resolute Steiner fan almost anything from his filmography could be considered a "big announcement."

Although I'm not convinced we're talking about a box set, I have always hoped that perhaps a multi-volume set of material from the Warner Bros. years could be put together with maybe a mixture of well known titles like NOW, VOYAGER and lesser known but no less excellent efforts like THE UNFAITHFUL.

Whatever it turns out to be, I'm certain to desire it!

Re: THE BODY SNATCHER.

It's long been one of my favorite films, but the first time Ray, that clever rascal, posted that photo in a thread I had to ask him about it myself. That's why I wrote here that "this time, I remember." While we're all waiting for more information from Ray, I suggest that we fill the time by watching THE BODY SNATCHER, a great Lewton/Wise film with a great Karloff performance and, yes, a great Roy Webb score.

Sounds like a multiple score set to me. Ray twice talks of it as "a release" rather than "a score". He also says "No re-treads!" (plural) rather than "It's not a re-retread".

Maybe it's a similar release to the 3CD BYU/FMA Max Steiner: The RKO Years 1929-1936 set?

I would love a copy of “All Mine to Give” [Aka: "The Day They Gave Babies Away”].

I have to agree that it has to be a box set considering Ray's use of plurals. Supposing they're included, a box set would be a good way to take care of the gray area scores (i.e. King Richard and Helen of Troy), since FSM took that very approach when decided to include the previously gray-area Young Bess and All the Brothers were Valiant in their Rozsa box set.

I can't make an official announcement but I am happy to say that we will be having BIG Steiner news about a release taking place later this summer. Steiner fans - and beyond - will hopefully be very excited about our forthcoming release. I wish I could say more but I at least wanted to let Max's fans know that he's coming back in a big way!

Summer is about over Ray, any news? Clues?

Thanks for the update Ray. We'll have to be patient. Anything by Max is worth the wait!

Yes, thanks for the update, Ray. I can't wait! I'm checking this thread every day waiting for an announcement. Hoping it's going to be something similar to the great Max Steiner: The RKO Years set.

You're not confused, the information simply hasn't been given.

That said, there's no reason to believe Ray is talking about an Intrada release, and many reasons to believe he is not. So I think we're talking about two separate releases here, the Steiner one Ray is teasing and the could-be-any-Golden-Ager set coming from Intrada.

It´s not "could-be-any-Golden-Ager set" as we know the studios where the material comes from are mainly Warner and MGM and the time span is 25 years. This important info - and Ray´s additional one that it will definitely not be Steiner - excludes so many Golden Age composers and I am now quite convinced it will be a Waxman 4 CD set.

Thank you, SchiffyM and Ray Faiola, for clarifying my confusion.

Because since Ray had announced a ClassicFlix bluray release as a "first Max Steiner annoucement", I just wondered if the other big Max Steiner project could also have been a project involving Ray Faiola's talented expertise...but again for a label other than his!
