Strike anyone else as odd that we haven't gotten a teaser trailer yet? Didn't we get one for Episode VII a year ahead of its release? Not really odd. Remember that Disney didn't have another STAR WARS movie to sell when the first TFA teaser was released in November 2014. The second TFA teaser premiered at the Star Wars Celebration event in April 2015. Kathleen Kennedy mentioned "spring" when asked about the first TLJ teaser; I imagine there will be a similar roll out for it at this year's SWC event in April.

And it surely will be on the DVD/blu-ray release of ROGUE ONE.

And it surely will be on the DVD/blu-ray release of ROGUE ONE. I don't know. The "Force Awakens" discs did not have a trailer for "Rogue One." Maybe due to the problems surrounding ROGUE ONE at that point. Including the new trailer or teaser on the successful ROGUE ONE now, especially with Kennedy hinting at a spring release, would be the perfect marketing move and push the sales for the ROGUE ONE unit even higher. Just my two cents.

http://www.slashfilm.com/star-wars-the-last-jedi-score/ "Usually the editing of a film is done with a temporary soundtrack in place in order to get a feel for the pacing and to provide some inspiration to the composer as to what the director is looking for musically. But in this case, Rian Johnson wants Williams to compose music that he can use in order to inspire the editing process. This gives Williams a little more freedom in his work, and it just might result in a more dynamic score." That's really cool. I know that Johnson directed several episodes of BREAKING BAD. That show's creator/showrunner, Vince Gilligan, was apparently also very adamant that there be no temp music during editing, with the exception of a source song or something that they would try to license later on. The thinking was that if you can get something to work well without music, you will understand where it's needed. You _know_ that music will make action scenes, et al, more exciting, but it's a bigger sin to lather a bunch of unnecessary score over moments that play just fine dry. Gilligan started on THE X-FILES way back when, and Chris Carter reportedly likes to work that way too, so I guess he carried it on. I'm so happy that Johnson has picked up on it as well and is doing with STAR WARS.

Another interesting wrinkle to this is that Williams is now working with STAR WARS directors who grew up deifying him, who perhaps feel more compelled to defer to him or at least include him in more creative decisions than a peer like Lucas did.
