Wouldn't it be trippy to see Williams conduct his scores to the screen ala Lord of the The Rings and ET?^

Yes a new CD set is coming, according to KB. They found all of the old cues, and are releasing everything

Let it be true! I'm actually getting excited about this.

I originally took the rumor with a huge grain of salt. Now? Mind blown!

"Thanks to Jeff Bond and the talented guys at La-La Land records. They're going to be issuing a 10 disc set of ALL LIS music."

I guess the cat has flown the coop

I wonder if there's still hope for the proto-Outer Limits music of STONEY BURKE

You have to wait for 2017 for a new title by Dominic Frontiere because it is one title every three years. Nobody know what will the next title be?

as I recall, your Frontiere release date theory didnt make empirical sense so it's more superstition.

Holy crap; 10 discs?! What did we do to deserve this? The TOS box set must be selling pretty nicely for LLL for them to have taken another chance on such a large complete set of classic sci-fi series music.

What an amazing year this is going to be for Lost in Space... remastered HD releases, and now a full set of the series' music.

Forgive me, please forgive me!

I never heard about Lost in Space (both TV-show & it's music) before reading this thread.
So can true fans tell me, why you're so enthusiastic about this one?

For example, I knew that Original Star Trek was some kind of inspiration for dozens movies & TV-shows.
What is unique with Lost in Space?

Same with the music. If I understand, John(ny) Williams composed some music for this show.
So does it means that most people who are happy about upcoming release just wants to make their Williams collection more complete? Or this is something else?

besides being sci-fi, and having the nostalgia factor for adults, it's similar to TREK in that various composers wrote scores, and the few cds came from Crescendo/GNP. I think they were generally incomplete, as Lalaland later issued a cd set which filled in some blanks.
Williams was the main composer so people refer to him more in regards to LIS, and he wrote some lovely music.

It's a cult TV show that spoke to a lot of people. It also is looked down on by a lot as well, but overall, it is a well liked (even loved) whimsical sci-fi series that had likeable actors, two very original characters, great model work and fantastic scores. John Williams' music is the most famous (and most tracked) music throughout the three seasons and it is mostly excellent. The other composers came up with music that ranged from outstanding to grating, but it all had character.

I've loved the show since I was a kid (although I disliked the most incredibly silly episodes) and I am a fan of most of the music.

Did LiS inspire people to be doctors, scientists and astronauts? Did it further the cause of civil rights or make political statements? Eh, not much if at all. But it was a charming series that has a devoted fanbase. But, like anything else, is all a matter of taste.
