I'm not saying you need to have ALL THOSE THINGS but a couple more would help. First 5 people to donate over £100 get a page of sheet music. First 20 people to donate over £50 get the option to have the album signed by the conductor. That sorta thing.
Oh Thor, saying "I don't mean to…" followed by doing that thing is a disingenuous rhetorical device. You do mean to, and you want everybody to know it, despite your parenthetical claims otherwise.
I'm not suggesting you want this to fail, but you sure as hell want everybody to know that you're not getting what you want, and that what you want is superior.
I don't mean to be harsh, but this is an insincere and arrogant post, no matter how you try to couch it.

Those are good. I had similar thoughts and sent him a message via KS about it. Also offering the idea of maybe a limited number of people could attend a session for £1000.
Stop with your crybaby trolling, Thor. Your dislike of John Barry's music is well-known, we don't need your piss to put out the fires you started yourself eons ago.
It is what Thor does. Not just Barry but in tons of various threads in his usual passive-aggressive way. I don't expect him to stop but I do want to stop by and give him the crown of king of the many who pop up to piss on positive threads. Congrats, you probably have done it more than anyone else.
I don't mean to piss on your campaign, James (all the best of luck to you!), but THIS you want 'kickstarted' -- despite it having numerous soundtrack versions already -- while my suggestion of recording Williams' STORY OF A WOMAN/STORIA DI UNA DONNA -- a superior score that has never seen the light of day, nor will it ever -- was completely uninteresting to you?
Very interesting to me...but first I would need to get the permission of the composer and the publishers....and that takes time...
All Thor has done is to point out that he thinks Moonraker is a weaker Bond entry and that should this crowdfunder actually work out, then perhaps next time round James might consider his suggestion. Sounds like an alright suggestion to me.
Does this mean Shirley Bassey gets to sing the title song again?
I think we've been here before, when Lukas made the suggestion about Kickstarter and lots of people sort of went, "yeah, well . . . ," including me.
But James has grabbed the bull by the horns and the balls this time and who knows where this could go?

Awesome! Thank you for the response, James! Much appreciated.
I understand the issue with permission. As you might know, however, the score sheets are available to rent so that's at least ONE problem out of the way.
Good luck with MOONRAKER -- I mean that sincerely, despite what some people in this thread surmise!
To keep this mildly on-topic, I'd like to point out that the title song from STORIA DI UNA DONNA -- "Uno di Qua, L'altra di La" performed by Ornella Varnoni -- is about the closest Williams has ever been to writing a Bond song. It's available to download on iTunes, or you can sample it on Youtube here:
Has nothing to do with my like or dislike of John Barry. I was just surprised by the title James chose given more attractive alternatives (in my opinion, of course). I've always been one to champion previously unreleased scores over those that already have some sort of release.
But hey -- it's his baby. As I said, I wish him the best of luck.
Plus this have absolutely nothing to do with my own personal likes in music ... I DID NOT CHOOSE IT .... it was demanded by the fans! If it was left to my own likes I would be recording everything that Maurice Jarre composed....
but I actually do like John's music ... and if people want it who am I to deny it, especially working with John's favourite ochestrator Nic Raine

I imagine Moonraker is far more likely to sell copies, but what do I know? It's true that it has had "numerous soundtrack versions already" but as far as I know they're all the same, so there's only one album really.
