Very glad to know this collection continues to sell well. I think it illustrates well just what outstanding composers and creative talents Bruce Broughton and Stu Phillips really are (have never heard a substandard score from either), Stu's work on "Battlestar Galactica," Bruce's work on "Dallas," "Hawaii 5-0," and "Quincy" being, in my opinion, as good as music for television gets. Am delighted to discover "Journey to Oasis" and to hear this side of John Cacavas, who always did a fine job on such series as "The Gangster Chronicles," "Kojak" and "Eischied." His score for "Airport 1975," is also very good, "Murdock Makes It!" being a standout selection on the MCA-issued soundtrack.
A gem of a collection to be certain. Get it while you can.

I've been not getting these for a long time now, because though a sci-fi fan from way back I had nothing but contempt for this show back in the day and have seen almost nothing of it in decades. (No offense to those who love the show.) But man the samples of both volumes are just much better than I remembered - and there are still a few copies left of each on Amazon which is handy for Prime members.
This will be a nice companion to the BSG volumes, another show which I can barely watch but love to listen to. If you're like me, don't wait for these to become too darn pricey! Great cost - per - disc right now. And adorable cover art to boot.

I just want volume 3 with A Dream Of Jennifer.
I still hold out hope for an expanded release of the pilot one day. I've read that the masters are either missing, or no longer exist, but one hopes the remaining missing bits of music could perhaps be extracted from 2nd generation masters, or maybe film elements, stems? Not ideal but far better than nothing.
I remember reading about some software called Audionamix that they used on the mono Psycho film track to extract the individual elements (including music) to contruct the discreet 5.1 surround mix for the bluray. I wonder if something similar could be used in situations like this (the software removing dialogue and effects, and bringing up the level of the music at those points to create a smooth listening experience) where the bulk of the score is there already, but a few extra tracks are needed from the film when masters are missing. Could potentially 'save' a lot of lost scores, though the sound quality would of course never be as good as going back to the original sources. But better than nothing...
I love that wonderfully wistful 'man out of his time' piece of music Stu Phillips wrote when Buck looks over New Chicago with Wilma for the first time in the film. It doesn't last long but it's my favourite piece in the soundtrack. And typically not on the original soundtrack album, which I originally had on vinyl, then got Intrada's release.
Anyway, it's great to see all the love these releases are getting, and that they've sold well. Fingers crossed for another visit to the music of the 25th Century at some point. Very thankful to all concerned at Intrada for these wonderful releases, and the great Stu Phillips et al for such wonderful music.

Well, I've been listening to these albums, and though my opinion of the show hasn't improved, man the music is fun. Even first season's disco-driven numbers. Just playing the D & D board game Wrath of Ashardalon this afternoon with the family, and Season 1 made a hilarious soundtrack.
Almost gone - don't miss 'em!

Well as I understand it there's only one unreleased score from season 2, while there are quite a few unreleased from season 1, which is why Doug Fake said that a potential Season 1 Vol. 2 depended on sales of the other volumes. So if there were another volume released, it'd probably be right up your alley, except I'm guessing since these are both being deleted the likelihood of another volume is negligible.

They were discontinued. That doesn't necessarily bode well for a third volume. We'll have to wait and see if what ever they sold before ending them, was enough to justify one more volume.

There are always a lot of assumptions when Intrada deletes their titles, but we really have no idea what the reasons behind any specific deletion are. It is my understanding that sometimes they are simply toward the end of their current stock and with sales slowed to a trickle, it's not worth it to them to press more. Doesn't necessarily mean it sold badly. Sometimes, they'll also reach the end of their release window. The deletion of a title doesn't necessarily mean it was what Donald Trump would call a big loser.
Exactly! We keep things in print as long as there's demand for it. If that demand is 10,000 units and then it stops selling, we'll delete the title. But the title was what we'd call a raging success.

It's interesting that Season 1 was in print for so much longer than Season 2 -- were both titles a raging success, Roger? (If so that bodes really well for a third volume!)
