Bottom line if the Original stuff is lost,

A TADLOW Re-recording of the entire score would be Phenomenally Stupendous and Awesome!

Nic Raine and Orchestra know how to do Goldsmith and everything they do Justice!

All the Tadlow James Fitz productions are Treasures!

Except for the synth stuff.

And I'm very curious to know more about Bruce Botnick's "clue to the multi-tracks potential whereabouts"...

I think he just suggests the analogue tracks might have gone to Warner Bros (Metheny's record label) as opposed to MGM/UA, who now own of the Orion catalogue.

One of Jerry Goldsmith's finest album presentations. Just perfect. It may miss one traditional Goldsmith action cue highlight which would be nice to have but not end of the world. Definitely don't need a pointless Tadlow interpretation.

Deleted the unnecessary and unpleasant last sentence for you...

Agree that the album presentation with its rearrangements of the score are wonderful. But since this is such an important and terriffic score to a fantastic film, I have to disagree when it comes to a rerecording. As long as the score tapes are lost, this would be a dream come true project. Although the fact that it would be quite challenging to faithfully recreate the synth part probably makes such a project unlikely. And they definetely would have to either hire Matheny himself or someone who is as good as him for the guitar solos.

The Twilight Time blu commentary with Nick Redman & the gang is a goldmine of Goldsmith info goodness.
Someone probably already noted this, but I had to bring it up again . I was afraid it would be the same old PVC pipe & Andean music talk, but no. Those are covered among lots of other great new items.
This alone worth the price.
