That reminds me, Disco Stu -- in the liner notes, I describe the members of Andromeda as "glow-stick-bedecked," when they are clearly "light-strip-bedecked." Mea culpa! Well, I made the mistake that the "Space rocker" opening song wasn't in the set. I heard the samples, and HOORAAY I WAS WRONG IT'S IN!! A search of 20 years has come to an end! My galactic gratitude goes to interstellar Intrada. We're getting a lotta bang for and from our Buck. DISCO STU. I'm also very happy that the opening Andromeda tune included! I wonder, is "Let's Do It" the song that the "Space Rockers" episode closes with?

Maybe theire will be a SEASON 1, Volume 2? It's all up to you guys! There's certainly lots of music, which is probably why not every composer is represented. Let's see how well the first one sells...

From Douglass Fake on the Intrada forum: Thank you! I am actually more pumped up about Season Two as the Bruce Broughton episodes are incredibly exciting, with a more serious edge to them than any of the Season One efforts. These scores were all vaulted in pristine condition on literally dozens of rolls of 1/2" three-channel stereo tape and sound awesome! (And, in case somebody didn't notice, we've been rather good friends with Bruce for 25 years.) Plus we'll be representing John Cacavas at that time as well. This first season set gets us started and the second season scores are a must for the strong musical content... but a further set featuring J.J. Johnson, Richard Markowitz and the others becomes dependent on the success of these first two sets. We're game. Hopefully you are, too. --Doug Can't wait for the season two release and hope that Intrada includes my two favorite Bruce Broughton "Buck Rogers" scores: "The Satyr" (Bruce's first, out of ten, Emmys, awarded the same year Jerry Goldsmith won for "Masada") and The "Guardians" (parts of which have a "Boy Who Can Fly" sound). Bruce's scores for the series are quite distinctive as they all feature his theme for Buck's ship, The Searcher. There's also a score by Herbert Woods that was quite good, Woods being the series' second season music editor. Bring it on!

I'm hoping it sells well. I'm keen to get the Robert Prince scored SPACE VAMPIRE music. Prince was a Universal staff composer who did a multitude of childhood favorites : THE DEAD DON'T DIE, GARGOYLES, SNOW BEAST, SQUIRM, etc. The tone of the two seasons of BUCK ROGERS was very different and the scoring reflected that.

I was just poking around the samples and found something neat on Disc 3. "Prison Approach" by Richard La Salle has a little moment that sounds just like a moment in LOST IN SPACE "The Derelict." La Salle is one of three credited composers on "The Derelict." Oh he stole a lot of music. The Derelict is on there as are bits of Jerry Goldsmith's Planet of the Apes. I cannot WAIT to get this and the second season. Time of the Hawk is my favorite episode all around and the music is outstanding. As is Journey to Oasis. I am so on this!
