13 original episode scores by Jerry Goldsmith after the pilot? That eclipses all previous figures we’d been told. Does anyone know definitively how many original scores Goldsmith wrote for this series? Justin did you not notice any reused music? Yavar

I didn't hear any tracking. Each score appears to have been tailored to the episode heard in. Season nine is the only season not completely covered composer wise on IMDb; at the rate the channel I am using is uploading videos, I hope to have the answer to how many Jerry did -- assuming no days are skipped in unloading episodes -- in ten days.

SEASON 3:
I'm getting tired of copying and pasting purchase links, so here is a playlist on Youtube where you can purchase any season three episode: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=ELhmlFfwo1uNQ "The Conflict" By: Alexander Courage Part 1: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7qi2xw Part 2: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7qi2xu Highlights: Part 1: 0:00 in. 6:31 in. 10:14 in. 17:53 in. There is an edit in the cue so we don't hear all of part of it. 32:44 in. And the cue after the commercial break. 41:10 in. 49:17 in. 53:23 in. Including a bass harmonica. 57:30 in. Continues into Part 2. Part 2: About 3:50 in. 7:15 in. About 7:50 in. 13:34 in. 18:18 in. And the cue after the commercial break (which also uses, briefly, a bass harmonica). 25:19 in. 27:41 in. 32:04 in. All scores for the series from this point on are by Courage, until I reach the final season, so I won't list him every time. "The First Day" https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7qjx08 Highlights: 0:00 in. 2:23 in. 8:23 in. 11:46 in. Continues after the commercial break. 34:06/37:49 in. Banjo and strings, with a little harmonica around the end. 38:52 in. 41:07 in. 46:35 in. 47:57 in. That might be the entire episode score, so I might as well say the complete score should be released. Grandpa Walton: "It's hotter than a turkey's bath." John-boy: "Daddy ... you know, when I left the house this morning, I thought I was going to be a different man." John Walton, Sr.: "Just like that, huh?" John-boy: "Same old country boy." John Walton, Sr.: Smiling, "Can't seem to get rid of it." John-boy: "Can't seem to." (Part 1) and that episode of "Newsradio" with the office rat...Special note to the acting of Herbert Nelson, even though he's only there for a few brief minutes. And even though he's got a hermit beard going on. "The Romance" https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7qlvqo Highlights: 2:47 in. 6:18 in. 10:31 in. 12:53 in. 32:56 in. 41:23 in. "The Beguiled" https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7qudis Highlights: 0:00 in. (0:38) 6:47 in. Sounds more like something I'd expect to hear from Rosenman. 10:39 in. 13:49 in. Over five minutes of lovely scoring and terrific examples of good television writing. 44:09 in. 47:08 in. "The Statue" https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7qw5x1 Highlights: 6:00 in. 8:48 in. 12:30 in.* (3:22) 17:30 in. 21:38 in. (2:21) 24:28 in. 26:53 in. 29:20 in. (0:33) 34:17 in. 39:45 in. 41:45 in. (1:40) 43:54 in. (4:19) I'm tempted to say Courage should have at least gotten an Emmy nomination for this episode score. In fact, no episode scores from this series were nominated for any wards (that I found), which is weird. Considering the output and other television series scoring that was getting nominated. Grandpas is 78 years old. * = Anybody else thinking: "NOT AH FINGA!" "The Song" https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7qw5x0 Highlights: 0:00 in. (0:34) 11:37 in. 14:26 in. 21:33 in. 22:47 in. "The Fighter" https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7r2rkx Highlights: 5:04 in. 7:56 in. 9:53 in. If you've read enough of my TV scoring threads, you know one of the things I hate: fucking boxing episodes. And what makes it an even sloggier sloggy slogfest? No scoring during the fight scenes. "The Prophecy" https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7r2rky Highlights: 0:00 in. 2:17 in. 10:45 in. And the cue after the commercial break. 20:16 in. 22:46 in. 25:09 in. 30:45 in. 32:00 in. 33:48 in. John-boy sure plows quickly through a lot of girls. I think it was jsut season one where he met this girl and she left and he promised he'd never forget her, then a few short episodes later, he meets another girl. Then another girl. Then another girl. He's going through women faster than James T. Kirk -- and he's not even getting a kiss each episode. A fun little score. "The Test" https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7rg9wg Highlights: 0:00 in. 11:59 in. 19:00 in. (0:23) 25:01 in. 36:32 in. 41:10 in. 46:07 in. "The Quilting" https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7rg9wh Highlights: 4:50 in. 12:39 in. 23:41 in. 39:11 in. 41:16 in. I think the opening cue might be tracked from a prior episode, so I didn't cite it. "The House" https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7rhvec Highlights: 0:00 in. 1:47 in. About 16:35 in. A small part of the episode until then, is muted, so we're probably not hearing the full cue. 30:15 in. 39:49 in. "The Fledgling" https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7rhvea Highlights: 16:43 in. 24:01 in. 35:49 in. About 44:10 in. I'm surprised we didn't get a spin-off, "John-boy: The University Years". I think the opening cue might be tracked from a prior episode, so I didn't cite it. "The Collision" https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7rhveb Highlights: 0:00 in. Again, makes me think of Mancini. I wonder if I look at Courage's orchestration credits, if he ever worked for him... 4:24 in. 7:18 in. 20:53 in. 24:55 in. 34:00 in. 38:16 in. Hopefully he's okay, as regards that last post by him above. And I'm listening to my old D90 cassette tape of 5 episode scores I taped off the telly (Foundling, Typewriter, Star, Ceremony & Literary Man) as I type. Wonderful stuff.

Yeah I hope tapes can be found some day for a release from this series, but if that's truly impossible I would gladly help fund a re-recording along the lines of the Goldsmith Tadlow Thriller volumes, to cover his contribution to this show. Kickstarter/Indiegogo, anyone? Leigh Phillips? Yavar
