The Jonsi song fits the scene, but it will be more epic if it uses score.

That stupid song is a distraction. They showed the same sky diving scene months ago, and it was far more epic. The song is pointless, and ruins the scene.

99% sure that's a mockup in that clip and not the final orchestral recording.

Agreed. Listen to the brass line and you will hear distinct attack transients when a line that quick would have been slinky slurred.

Has this been posted yet?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UV1Ic4XrWY

I can't verify if it is Powell's music from HTTYD2, but if this is any indication of what the OST will sound like, I already have goosebumps. The OP was correct in thinking there would be more use of choral in this one.

Can anyone verify this video? It seems like such a random posting from a random YouTube user -- spelling mistakes and all.

*EDIT: My apologies, it seems these are tracks from Audiomachine. I was under the impression that was a pseudonym (since the music seems to roughly follow the HTTYD style). If anything, I had never heard of Audiomachine before - so enjoy! This also answers the question of where the music came from in the original Teaser Trailer that started this thread in the first place. The track is called 'Beyond the Clouds' and it's off Audiomachine's 'Existence' album released in late 2013, if you're curious.

Like many here I was absolutely crazy abaout HTTYD and consider Powell's score to be amongst the finest ever written.

Can the sequel even come close to the original?
I just hope it iant another BABErazzIG IN THE CITY

fingers crossed

If Powell is going to walk away from scoring in favor of the concert hall then this had better be a rousing final act in his scoring career.

2 minutes clip with new theme

To me, i got that Mars Needs Moms vibe to it, but really not HTTYD vibe. The theme itself does nothing to me considering that it is meant to show a new dragon world (Ice age 3 dinosaur world theme is great example)

The good and neverending story for children. All in the best tradition of "Dreem Works".
The gays created soo many good BG, characters and want to make some money

Those two tracks sounded wonderful. If they are any indication of what we will hear from the rest of the music then we are in for another treat. I will not hesitate to purchase this, regardless of how well the movie is received.

Sounds like the John Powell I know and love! Honestly something was off about his first Dragon's score. Just didn't resonate with me like his other animated efforts. It was still good, but not his best. This sounds better. smile

Loved James' review. Glad to hear that some familiar themes are back and VERY thrilled to learn that Powell has added more wonderful new themes.
