Sounds excellent. I hear a certain SUBTERRANEANS vibe to it, and that's a good thing. Not so much in the melody (which is pure Raksin), but in the silky combination of jazz soloists and orchestral backing. I see that some of the personnel is the same. Hope this sells well - I've never understood why Raksin is supposedly such a difficult sell, but hopefully this will appeal to jazz buffs too. Either that or it'll fall between too stools, which would be a pity.

I didn't expect it to be an instant sellout, as the film isn't that well known. I think once people have it (hopefully within the week if all goes according to Hoyle) and post about it, others will take the plunge.

It should be an instant sellout because of Raksin's name, regardless of how well known the movie is, but that's another - sad - story... Sad indeed. But you can't force people, they just have to figure it out for themselves.

And so we will - coming Tuesday morning. What, no one has guessed our next release? Shocking.

Could this forthcoming title be considered a golden age score [40's or 50's] ? I don't believe it could. Over to you, Bennett Cerf.

Could this forthcoming title be considered a golden age score [40's or 50's] ? I don't believe it could. Over to you, Bennett Cerf. Bennett: Would it be considered a Silver Age score then? I suppose it would - but there's more than one score and I'll just say that however many there are could be considered Silver Age. Miss Kilgallen?

Are these scores connected more by a single composer rather than by a single genre of film? I would say that would be a reasonable guess. On to Miss Francis.
