I think its funny how a couple of people on this thread have said the score sounds like it has a real "80's vibe to it".

I sure as hell hope the score doesn't sound like an 80's score because Rush is about the 1976 F1 World Driver's Championship.

Do The Ten Commandments sound like a 13th century BC score ?

'Zimmer's Rush'

Is that a euphemism?

'like 'The Bum Steer' or 'The Tripoli Trots', or 'Montezuma's Revenge'?

Poor Herr Zimmer. I think there's ointment for it.

Sounds non orchestral, more like Toto mixed with Rush and Guns and Roses, via Hans Zimmer.

Think Transformers/Days of Thunder/Mission: Impossible 2... and it totally works big grin

Best Zimmer score since INCEPTION. Awesome main theme.

I don't really care about the film (don't care much for car movies), but I'm interested in the score. DAYS OF THUNDER is one my favourite Zimmers.

I think Has Zimmer himself wrote that review (or a Remote Control "partner").

Too much RCP.....

There are no themes, just static
it's all Iron Man, Battleship, Inception and bit of Angels & Demons combined =(

Every single one of those you mentioned had multiple themes

Not just that, but Rush has a theme that can be heard in the first track! Oh, well - you can't convince stupid.

Haha, yes! That's why it drives me crazy when people say the Media Ventures style is inappropriate for films, particularly historical dramas/epics. If film scores actually sounded like the music of periods in which their films are set, they would be unpalatable to the vast majority of people.

It's also interesting to note that Zimmer's score is actually used in the trailer (to good effect!), which is unusual these days

An excellent, vigorous score from Mr. Zimmer! I have just finished my first listen and I felt so damn excited throughout the whole thing. More thoughts to come when I have the time to pick apart the tracks individually, but as one whole listen this one is very cool.

No surprise coming from my lips, but Zimmer has delivered another exceedingly listenable album.

Now, where's Yor and the rest of the tin-ear flunkies to delve into the scholarly subject of "Hanzimmer sux?"

I'm really looking forward to hearing the score, but for all that is good and holy don't poke the bear!!!

I prefer the uplifting secondary theme heard in tracks 4 and 12.
