Also, I contacted Adam Langston, to give my gratitude. He mentioned he doesn't know of any plans to release it. I really hope some plans are put in motion.
Russell Crowe tweeted yesterday or the day before that the powers that be were considering releasing a complete song/score version of the soundtrack. It didn't necessarily sound likely, but I would assume, if it comes to pass, that it would include the end titles.
Crowe retweeted a blurb from Republic Records that a deluxe edition of the soundtrack is in fact in the works, possibly in time for the DVD release.
Excellent news. I'm glad I didn't rush to buy the highlights album.
I'd be happy if Adele wins best song Oscar for 'Skyfall but I'd also be pleased to see this gorgeous song written especially for the movie come up trumps on Oscar night.
Quick quote: "Post-production on the Les Miserables film was extremely tight, with recording of the orchestra, final edit and sound mix having to be completed in only a few weeks," said producer Sir Cameron Mackintosh.
There was only enough time to remix a limited number of tracks so that at least a highlights album could be released for the fans before Christmas.
We are delighted with the success of that album and very pleased that we can now add 22 more tracks"
Yes....me too....no word on tracklist or whether it will indeed contain the End Credits Suite, but at least there is something more.
It says 'complete', so there is hope. I figured a complete score was coming, but I just picked up the original album a few weeks ago. Thankfully there's still time to sell it on eBay before the new one comes out.
I'm not sure the end credits suite will be included. I only say that because for both Phantom of the Opera and Evita, the end credits suites for those films was not included on there "complete" soundtracks. I really hope that changes this time.
I ripped the end credits for Phantom when the DVD was released (includes a beautiful orchestral version of 'Learn to be Lonely') but, I don't have the DVD for Evita and I have always wanted the end credits for it as well.
