Sold out at Varese. Not yet. Says 'Fewer than 100 copies remaining' for me. Out of stock doesn't mean sold out. When you try to buy it, the web tells you: A Note From Varese Sarabande Records The following fields are required or are invalid: The Boy Who Could Fly (0 Available) Man On Fire (0 Available)

'Man On Fire' and 'Enemy Mine' gone at SAE as well. Both of these could probably have sold another 500 copies each.

It's great to see a boom in interest in the great John Scott lately. Truly deserving of a brilliant film composer!

1,000 copies was far too little for such a good score. I hope Varese doesn't have the rights in perpetuity, and that the studio has them again and some enterprising label can do it again (and if there's any score missing, include that, too).

I can name an equal number of GREAT scores from every label that still have 1000 unit limited edition CDs sitting around and from composers a lot more famous than Mr. Scott, whom I adore. We did 1000 units of a first time complete classic Friedhofer score and made it a two CD set and included another long ago sold out score AND a world premiere release - think it's sold out yet? It hasn't. It's sold very well, but perhaps if Varese had issued it it would have been an instant sell out. Who knows? Or maybe it's just the old 1980s thing.

So could I, but I'm talking about this score, which is already sold out. But you have a point -- maybe one of us should start a seperate thread naming limited edition scores which are really good, but not sold out, to help entice others.

It's an edit. It's on the original album. It's not strange. You're anti-Varese and weird. Sorry.
