Maybe I'm an idiot, but where is this talk of Black Rain and The Bodyguard coming from? Are people joking?

I am super excited for all these titles! I'd write more if I could type easily on this Kindle Fire.
Mind = blown.

Apparently the worldsfinestonline website has the cover art for BATS Vol 2

So I should just write LLL a blank cheque then.

I'll get Batman V2, Phantom, X2, DS9 for certain with Green Lantern, Black Rain and Bodyguard as possibles.

I'm excited for everyone who has waited for these. The names alone don't make me yearn for any of these but maybe the samples will when they are released.

At the rumors of the Batman: TAS volume 2 I was really happy that another volume was coming, but sad that I missed out on the first one. I'm super excited that LLL managed to give us both. David Newman's The Phantom is also a great score, and deserves the expansion. Now, I love most of the work of John Ottman, but I don't really know whether X2 merits a 2-disc release. Anyway, a stellar batch. Who would have thought that Batman The Animated Series would be given a second volume after all?

...This “second edition” re-issue is virtually identical to the 2008 version, except the bonus tracks “Gotham City Overture” and “Music of the Bat” have been removed to preserve the integrity of the initial release....

More than 20 min. have been cut out?!?eek And why didn’t La-La Land instead ADD something more? roll eyes

In this case the only thing very well “preserved” is the idiocy. What a sad bullshit !

More like 13. The "Gotham City Overture" consists of under seven minutes of material heard elsewhere in the album.

The real shame comes in skipping on hearing Walker's voice, thoughts on her own theme, and playing them on piano.

Because then the first release would be superfluous, and everyone who purchased it would have something worthless on their hands (metaphorically speaking). Re-releasing it with slightly less doesn't screw over everyone that bought in the first place expecting it to be a truly limited edition.

It's not "sad bullshit," it's a record company respecting their customers for once. If you're pissed that it has less than the original release, then you should have bought it back when it was first released.

And it should probably be "Batshit", considering.

The second volume of Batman: TAS, the complete Phantom, and the complete X-Men 2 (I'm kind of glad I held off on the regular version for so long)?

I really wanted to use a picture or a video clip of Cartman's reaction to inheriting one million dollars, but as I can't find them, I will simply say holy shit.

I finally caught my breath after reading the releases. I'm happy they're reissuing BTAS. Vol 1 I missed it the first time. Will make sure I won't miss Vol. 2. Newman's The Phantom , X2 (came out of left field), The list gets better and better following The Bodyguard ( I was hoping that would get a release with this year being it's 20th anniversary and now that it's coming I can't believe it)and Black Rain (old school Zimmer where his batman theme was derived from) . I will definitely be purchasing the BTAS volumes.B/c of the price tag for those combined I might have to wait purchasing The Phantom score at a later date. Hopefully it won't sell out by then. LLLR never ceases to amaze me with their releases. Just when I thought you guys topped yourselves with Friday the 13th parts 1-6, you release an expanded Planet of the Apes 2001, then you guys release a Hook 2-cd expansion, then you guys reissue Speed, then you guys reissue Star Trek :The Motion Picture. Now I thought for sure you guys would hit your peak this year with that one. Then you guys announce your SDCC releases... I know we're halfway through the year and as great as other labels releases have been this year you're definitely label of the year so far, imo.

So, in your opinion every *straight* reissue, every new limited edition of whatever title, expanded and improved, means a "lack of respect" for customers? roll eyes

I already have the earlier edition of Batman, so I think it's a bit unfortunate that those about to buy the new edition should be refused the very interesting last track of Shirley Walker explaining the construction of her work, just to appease some who might moan about the words "limited edition". Should a third edition, in a few years' time, lop off another couple of tracks to keep buyers of the second edition happy?
Are you saying that as an owner of the first edition, I should feel some pleasure that others will now be deprived of that track? Do you yourself feel better for the fact that new buyers will not be able to enjoy it? Will you invite your friends who merely have a second edition, to come visit on occasions to enjoy the treat of hearing the missing tracks on your "superior" first edition?
