For the LLL Christmas release thread to be so eerily quiet feels wrong... almost as if the four of us here have the board to ourselves. smile

Definitely purchasing Scrooged, Die Hard, and Fatman & the Little Boy (Been years since I've last seen it. I was in the 10th grade in US History I believe. So my memories pretty vague on the movie and score.)

Lots of fan-friendly fodder here!

The only one that holds interest to me, however, is SCROOGED.

I've had a boot for ages that combine the suite from MFADT with audio rips, but I'm glad to finally throw that in the bin and replace it with this one. C&C or not (it's not that long a score in the first place).

Thank you so much for this! Hope I get it in time. smile

Obviously not from the LaLa discs but here's a taster of Ennio's 'Fat Man and Little Boy:

The only one that really interests me is upgrading DIE HARD, if the sound quality is significantly better (I have the Varese and it isn't stellar by any means). I'm happy with both the FSM and Varese issues of TORA (it's not one of my favourite Goldsmith scores anyway), and I'm not a fan of Danny Elfman at all. The Morricone is a possible, depending on sound samples, as it's a film I've never seen, and since it appears much of the score isn't in the movie anyway, it probably wouldn't have helped.

Complete's fine: I'm just hoping DIE HARD isn't chronological. I far prefer the source music and songs put at the end. FSM's CD of BLACK SUNDAY is the ideal template for this, for me anyway.

I don't get what's so horrible with the artwork. They look terrific to me. You don't really want them looking too much like the old versions.

Some titles veered off to the side and got delayed for one reason or another...

Well, let's hope HOOK falls into this category.
Can't wait for Tuesday to place my order!

Thawing your heart and buying a CD at xmas sort of makes you this board's own Frank Cross!

For myself, I'm thrilled about Die Hard and Scrooged. I only just got the FSM Tora! Tora! Tora! on ebay - for a fair price, thankfully! - and I'll definitely listen to some Morricone samples as well.

Die Hard is / was a personal grail. I heard the Varese before and couldn't believe how muddy it sounded, particularly as I've also heard a promo that sounded so much cleaner and knew the tracks had to be out there in stellar quality. Now they finally will be and I can't wait to order this. I've also mentioned it to a few twitter people who don't generally follow releases, and they'll be queing for it too.

And Scrooged...eek, just very, very excited about that one. Can't wait to see the track lists, and for 9pm GMT on Tuesday!

The Die Hard cover art's not horrible, & it's good that it's different to the Varese, but it does look a bit too similar to the boot that's been floating around ebay for many years.

Looking forward to hearing Scrooged!

So very broke - but will get Die Hard. I actually sold my Varese Club CD this past summer after never really listening to it (the disc had immense sentimental value for me for reasons I won't go into, so it was hard to part with) and now I'm kind of happy I did.

I'll have to wait on Scrooged. Too many bills, too many Christmas presents!

Die Hard and Scrooged for me.

Good idea bringing Eric Lichtenfeld aboard the project - he seems to be the "Die Hard expert" having written the DVD's excellent text commentary and books on the action genre.

Interesting to hear about the legal kinks on Scrooged. I wonder how far in-depth the liner notes will go because, from everything I've read, I get the distinct impression that making the film was a less than pleasant experience for all involved. Even Paramount's Special Edition DVD was cancelled.

So how big was your Paramount wish list and how many titles are left? wink

Yes, same for me unfortunately. As I've already said I'm getting the Morricone, but don't think I can stretch the budget for 'Scrooged' as well at the moment. I just hope it hangs around for a bit.

AMAZING! GREAT releases. Thank you, and everyone involved, for all your hard work on these titles. Also, a smart strategy to drop these alerts on Black Friday. When we are out shopping and fighting the crowds - you'll have these 4 titles echoing in our heads. That's when we'll second guess impulse buys and remember what's coming on Tuesday. Smart and very cunning LLL, indeed you have played your role very well.

I've missed getting Die Hard before. SOLD
I loved Fat Man and Little Boy, that was an 'out of left field' surprise here. SOLD
Scrooged - How can anyone not wait for the opening number... when the Paramount studio card plays and those angelic voices start to sing - we are in store for a quirky comedy. SOLD
and, oh yeah, T!T!T! - Goldsmith - enough said. SOLD

We have much to be thankful for this year, on so many levels.

Mark, nothing personal, but art direction is really not your forte. Sorry.

Hmmmm... sometimes saying "nothing personal" fails to make something personal into nothing personal.
