Ordered a copy of Uncharted. Looking forward to it. Loved the first two scores! Edmonson really is an underrated composer. Why hasn't this man scored any big Hollywood films yet?

This may not be the appropriate place but I hope customers also get A Certain Smile.

I knew nothing about ACS and was giving it a miss. However, the comments on this board persuaded me to buy it. I'm glad I did. This is quality. Finances prevent me from getting 55 Days right now but I have the Varese CD and that will keep me happy until I'm in a position to buy LLL's version (assuming it hasn't sold out beforehand).

smile

I love the clips for 55 Days! I know Silva recorded the overture, but I think I've only heard the bits that were released on Cloud Nine's Great Epics CD. I guess that leaves The Magnificent Showman as the remaining epic from that compilation needing a full release...

Well, I ordered one and it sho' as fek wasn't UNCHARTERED. big grin

Sold my old Varese release a few years ago because I had a rather elegant unmentionable of the whole score, which doubtless will be presented in glorious splendor on this fine. new item.

P.S. Got a 125 samolians on ebay. big grin

This is Prime Grade A Tiomkin!

This and FOTRE were among the best Tiomkin had to offer.

And they're only a year apart!

Among other Tiomkin scores I'd like to see expanded, or even released in general are a complete SEARCH FOR PARADISE, and GREAT CATHERINE (1968), which has a marvelous, Russian-flavored score, all about Britisher Peter O'Toole having a grand time in the court of Jeanne Moreau as Cathering the Great, with, of all people, Zero Mostel as Prime Minister Potemkin. Not historically accurate, and supposedly derived from a play by George Bernard Shaw, if you please.

Ah, Tiomkin! They don't make 'em like Tiomkin any more....!!!!

I don't see where MV announced the Uncharted signatures sold out. Did Uncharted 3 even sell 100 copies the first day?

Greg Edmonson isn't - as I'm sure he'd be the first to admit - in the same league as Tiomkin, but those with a knee-jerk prejudice against video game scores shouldn't be so dismissive.

Video games often have budgets comparable to Hollywood blockbusters, and the music is evolving in scope and quality.

Several A-List composers have contributed to game scores, including Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman and Michael Giacchino.

Which Uncharted orders got a signed copy?

All of them so far. MV says just above this comment they haven't sold out of signatures yet.

I suspect that the complete "Fall Of The Roman Empire" surfaced in the SONY vault too, but the release has been delayed by LLL so it doesn't compete with the marvelous Tadlow release.
