It is one of many. But that series I did helped me get over it. It reinforced why I have a love for his music. And frankly I've never seen another such tribute to a composer on here ever, although I certainly would like to. I would go so far as to say it would not be possible for another major film composer to receive the treatment you've given Morricone and have it be a revelation. The obsession with the scoring of American films means there truly has been nothing new to say about Barry, Williams, Goldsmith, Bernstein, North, Rosza, Herrmann in years, if I may risk saying so. Morricone is one of the few who is so understudied relative to the scale of his contribution.

I like Morricones score but, for me, nothing will top Ikuma Dan’s score to the samurai trilogy. Though an original score doesn’t exit the thematic material appears in his Symphony #2.
