If you're really annoyed that FOUR YEARS later a label decided to press 500 after a measly run of 500 in the first place, I think perhaps you should go find another hobby because you CLEARLY don't enjoy film scores.

I do enjoy film scores, and don't know where the hell you get off insisting it is CLEAR that I do not. Actually I don't really care that they've pressed more. My objection is their continued use of the term "limited edition". This reminds me of a DVD I purchased on eBay awhile ago that the seller described as being in "like new" condition. Turns out it was not in like new condition, it was scratched and fingerprinted, and the cardboard packaging was crushed. CLEARLY the seller realized that using a particular word would increase the final bid amount. Even though it was a lie, which is now the case with "kickboxer".

I'm not the one who decided that this release would be limited to 500 copies, Perseverance did. They're the ones who underestimated demand for this title, not me. That they've now printed up more makes their earlier claim that there were only going to be 500 a lie.

BTW, I don't see how not liking the misuse of words for marketing purposes proves I don't like film scores. The linkage may be "clear" to you, but I say your conclusion is complete nonsense.

The only assholes that complain about P releasing more is the collectors...
they don´t give a damn about the music, only that it is limited and a rarity that will fetch high prices on e-bay...
I salute Perservance for giving more people the chance to enjoy this title (and yes I bought it the first time)

Thanks very much the heads-up. I missed out the first time around.

Ordered!

I'm not sure... if it sells out quickly, I'll regret not getting it soon. If it hangs around a while, I'll want to wait a little bit. AARRGGHH!!! I want to get it, but I don't know where to put it on the priority list right now.

one of my all time favourite scores.

Hertzog managed to pull off authentic oriental style action way before many others.

It's a pity Hertzog only teaches music now, and doesn't make film music anymore.

Limited edition does not mean that it will never be released again...

That is exactly what it means. Not by the same label, in any case. I don't think you know what "limited edition" means either.

Agreed. Why even put a limitation number on the back if you aren't planning to stick to it? Kinda defeats the whole purpose of the 'limited edition'. I know labels are often limited to printing a maximum number of scores due to licensing constraints and it's a good marketing tool to use that limitation as a sales argument on the back of your CD case or on the websites, but when they plan to reprint them anyway, why did they even put it on there in the first place? Doesn't make any sense.

It's been four years, and you think they "planned to reprint" all along? Seriously, I can't fathom why people get so worked up over it unless they payed mega $ for an OOP copy, and even THEN, well, it's still their own problem with doing that.

Labels should be commended for getting the music out there to more people if they can and more people want it. As I said, if you disagree, then perhaps you ought to look at just why you actually want the CD in the first place. It's MUSIC, it's meant to be enjoyed in an abstract sense, not as a 'thing' that has some value. Sure it might be nice to be able to make some money if you happen to sell it, but to buy a CD, especially at the list price, and bitch because it loses its value later makes absolutely NO sense if you actually enjoy it in the first place.
It makes me think of how those stupid TVs at Walmart mention how "it tastes better because of rollback pricing", as if somehow being less expensive makes it the flavor better....yeah no.

Anyone notice this? I wonder if it's another repressing of the original Perseverance 2006 release? The label appears to be Perseverance according to Amazon, but there's no track listing...

Wow. I didn't think it could get any worse than the cover design for original CD release, but the blue hue proves me wrong. Cool score, in any case.

the blue hue proves me wrong

Check out the "Tarzan" thread for another Amazon cover that's inexplicably (and even more ridiculously) gone blue. I think Amazon is having a color channel problem.

From an email newsletter from Perseverance:

Paul Hertzog's Kickboxer 2014 Deluxe Edition

This is the complete soundtrack, containing the original score as heard on our previous release, PLUS 9 of the 10 original songs from the ultimate Jean-Claude Van Damme movie that launched his career. Digitally remastered, with new liner notes by Gergely Hubai that explain in depth the difference between our two Kickboxer albums and the history behind one of the greatest soundtracks of the Eighties.

It features no less than THREE songs by 80's cult icon Stan Bush, as well as the beautiful balled "Love is the Way", performed by Craig Copeland. This song was originally envisioned for the end titles, but was later dropped in favor of a more action-oriented piece.

The song "I Won't Stay" by Lucinda Ramseur has been omitted because we didn't have access to a satisfactory master. Instead of giving the listeners a bad recording we decided not to include the song on the album.

A special thank you goes out to Paul Hertzog, Stan Bush, Craig Copeland, Mike Piccirillo and David Chackler for making this release possible.

Limited to 3,000 units.

Wow. Who knew album cover design was so easy? Just slide the hue over to blue in Photoshop and you're done!

I'm happy for those fans who always wanted the songs too....

Wow, tracking list is almost identical to my own created version from 2006 (made from the german song album release including I won't stay), might have to purchase to see if mastering is any better...

"I Won't stay" could be found in the first cd release of the German label Global Satellite...
It's a shame that it was not inserted.
Great relase anyway, I have bought it!!

I just got a copy from Amazon, but I'm not 100% certain it's legit. It's sealed, but the track listing on the back is blurry, almost as if it was printed twice. The back track listing is also much more bland than any other perseverance CDs I have (It just lists the tracks), but I did buy directly from Amazon, not an individual selling on Amazon. Thoughts?

I'm afraid the booklet of the new edition is printed bad.
I've got it from Amazon, same "wrong print" on the back of the cd, but it's certainly a legit one.
Perseverance booklets are often designed so amateur...
