Although I, too, love the end credits piece, I love the scoring of the whole flick. The climax is one that has me shaking my head while thinking, "This guy can pump up ANY piece of crap movie to the point where I keep replaying the CD."
It's interesting to compare the crappy remake with the original film. Goldsmith would have written a completely different score to that because it's a movie that really has one thing going for it--the ending. If that didn't work, the movie would have been pointless. The remake brushes aside the most important element of the original, and we get another goofy 'thriller.' Yet, some of my favorite scoring is for scenes that have no counterpart in the original.
