Tolerance of others opinions and avoiding name calling goes a long way. You can be fiercely opinionated and civil. Tis possible.

Theres a long reply to be made on this - but this is not the thread to do it in. You're right on both accounts - I have a mean way of being funny and there is a way to be civil about things.

I think the problem is exactly what I criticise some people for - much like how sarcasm doesn't work on the internet, my "Married With Children" sense of humor doesn't translate well at all.

Alright good now that we've spun the morality wheel and gotten our moral of the day, we can get back to discussing why Lehah and everyone who dislikes the movie are complete idiots.

I keed, I keed.

I will say, I think that the pacing for the end was not good, and that the resolution of Harvey's story was a bit too much of a copout (but then again, I usually think that death is a copout), or at least seemed a cop out because it was done so abruptly when a good 10 minutes or so of story could've been added on to it and really fleshed it out.

I think WB should let someone else tackle Batman next time.
Nothing against Nolan (Memento is great), but the series could benefit from a James Bond type shuffle. But Bale should definitely stay IMO.

Nah, this is no superhero tale like Burton's Batman. And you wouldn't be getting a cast of this caliber without the Nolan/Goyer screenplay. And "no Nolan , no Bale", that's what Christian himself said.

Well, I think they would stay on if another A-list director came on (and I don't mean A-list as in Michael Bay, I mean a serious dramatic director). I think it could be an interesting move.

Depending on how Marc Forester does with Quantum of Solace, he could be a good choice I think.
But there are many others in my opinion who could do an interesting take on Batman.

Imagine a Frank Miller Batman film? I'd watch that!
It may not be good (IMHO, the Spirit doesn't look very good), but it would certainly be fascinating.

I think that the score is very bad. Actually all scores ofr superhero movies this summer really suck. When I compare the score of Zimmer to that of Elfman, I think to myself that Zimmer really sucks. It's an awful score.
As for the movie I didn't like it at all. No pacing at all. A few good performances don't make a good movie. It's one of the worst films I have ever seen in a cinema. Ironman and Hulk are far superior films than Dark Knight. They are films that want to entertain. I don't know what Dark knight is. Entertaining is not. It had the worst pace I have ever seen in a film even worse than Jackson's King Kong.
Awful Awful Awful!

The Joker is funny when he gets mad.

Unlike Lehah.

I want LeHah to post his review.

You summoned him!

I think Christian Bale is an amazing actor, but he wasn't handed any big scenes in this. Even his personal suffering seemed muted, and I found zero chemistry between him and Rachel. The acting kudos go to secondary roles. Freeman and Caine were just fine, and I thought Eckhart and Ledger were great and had more complex roles than Bale. I was also intrigued by the moral conundrums presented in this movie, and how the movie challenged rigid notions of black vs. white or good vs. evil choices. It is the kind of movie that would benefit from several viewings.

The positioning of Bale throughout the script is my main problem with the film too. The other characters make it more than interesting, but in a sense it's the same problem those old Michael Keaton films had. Not enough of the man at the heart of it...

PG-13 my ass.

I had the oddest feeling reading Bob Kane's credit at the end.

And pardon me, but weren't there attractive women in this kind of movie, once upon a time?

Nooo - no Frank Miller. No. No. No. Miller is the most over-rated hack writer in the history of comics. And he's quickly proving to be a horrid presence in film, too.

But...a Greg Rucka Batman movie? Yeah now that could work.

No kidding. The fact that I can't take my nephew to see a new Batman movie pisses me off to no end.

Yeah, I've been complaining about this for years, especially in the Spiderman movies. But in Kirsten Dunsts' defense, at least her voice isn't anywhere near as annoying as Maggie Gyllenhaal's.

I haven't felt like going through the previous pages but The Dark Knight has broken box office records even broke Revenge Of The Sith's opening day numbers. I can't wait to see this in two weeks.

De gustibus non est disputandum, I suppose, but I find Gyllenhaal more attractive and less annoying than Dunst.

I haven't seen it yet, but do any of you think Heath should get an Oscar nomination? and/or win?
Just curious!

Not at all.

Frankly, if they're going to parade around with this in tow, then I say the Academy give one to River Phoenix while they're at it. Both were young actors who died from accidental overdoses and whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

I wasn't talking about Gyllenhaal's looks, just her annoying "baby-talk" voice. (I can't think of a better way to describe it)

I agree with you that she's more physically attractive than Dunst, but frankly, that's not saying much.
