Does the Silva Collection have the Two unreleased Goldsmith scores from the Episodes:

NIGHTMARE AS A CHILD (nice lullaby theme)

and

THE FOUR OF US ARE DYING? (cool jazzy)

I remember those were very nice in the episodes.

Zoob

I believe these are still in stasis.

I would love to see Varese do a Goldsmith anthology a la Herrmann.

Some of this music I believe was used on the show, but I'm not 100% on this.

Be certain. The cue entitled "The Ambush" was used in that TZ ep with Albert Salmi as the bandit in the Old West about to be hung who is transported into the future. Great episode.

Awesome, thanks for the confirmation. ;-)

Huh?

SILVA already had done that and added even more music when it put out the 40th Anniversary edition.

It has everything that VARESE put out and MORE.

And now it's out of print selling at astronomical prices. Like to see reissue

Sorry to come to this thread six years late. My opinion is that, for the most part, the Varese CDs sounded better than the Silva set. Silva stuck a little too much reverb on the tracks. As I recall, they also overlapped a few cues which sounded better as standalones.

Coming from a Herrmann-slanted point of view, I wouldn't mind a new, truly definitive set that would also include the scores from EYE OF THE BEHOLDER, LITTLE GIRL LOST, LIVING DOLL and NINETY YEARS WITHOUT SLUMBERING, as heard on the DVD isolated tracks. Plus, it would be nice to have the complete HITCH-HIKER and MOAT FARM MURDER radio scores (both of which were used in many TZ episodes). The previous releases of these two radio scores (on Cerberus LPs and Silva and Prometheus CDs) delete cues from both of these scores. The pity is, these cues still exist. Apparently, when the Cerberus LPs that contained MOAT FARM and THE HITCH-HIKER were put together in the 1980s, the decision was made to exclude certain cues in order to make a better-sounding suite. Unfortunately, it seems that any later re-releases of this music are sourced from those Cerberus tapes, and therefore contain the same truncated versions. The stuff is out there, just waiting to be grabbed and released.

Man, I only wish someone would put me in charge of such a project. I know how this music should sound (not drenched in reverb), I know what's missing, and I know where to find it. As a Herrmann fanatic and audio engineer, it would be my dream job.

I'm happy with the Silva set. I wish there would be more though.

Oh no. Jim, if you're still around here after yet another couple years, I will fight you for the rights. Check out entries on this thread from Dec. 5, 2007 for m'credentials per Walking Distance:
