Maybe it will happen in 10 years when EMI decides they need to reissue the Bond scores again. That won't be happening... Ford A. Thaxton Correct me if I am wrong but wasn`t it you Mr. Thaxton who just a few years ago or so said (almost) the same thing regarding scores from Paramount but now we (already) have got some scores from the Paramount vaults that you more or less had it doomed for a release. With that in mind I do not believe you but please come back in 10 years and prove me wrong. You left out the rest of his post from 3 years ago (God know why you're choosing to bag on him now). He said EMI will NOT be releasing these in 10 years, because EMI will not have the rights. They will revert back to Sony Pictures, who owns the UA catalog. If rereleases are to be done, Sony, he imagines, will do them their own way under the Sony Legacy label.

According to Lukas Kendall the Moonraker tapes "should" be in France. Check your sources! Alex According to me we don't know where they are. All I know is that they were NOT at EMI's Abbey Road facility which is where we found the multitracks to the expanded Bonds I worked on 5-6 years ago. Whether they are still in storage some place else I don't know and there's nothing I can do about it, sorry. Lukas

In the 3rd National Treasure, Nic Cage and company journey to France to search for the elusive, lost Moonraker tapes. Expect a cameo by John Barry near the end. "Choose...but, you must choose wisely!"

Surely new expanded soundtracks would be a money spinner for someone? And what a project it would be. 5 or 6 (depending on MR) 30 track bond soundtracks. I would love to do a job like that. Better than being an accountant. These expanded soundtracks happened with such popular film series like Superman, Indiana Jones, the Omen trilogy and Star Wars. Also on the topic of re-recordings I recently received Exodus and noted that some tracks were re-created from scratch just by listening to the soundtrack of the film. Maybe this can also be done with the bond films for a "proper" full bound re-recording of all the film soundtracks? Why did it have to be Exodus? why not these Bond films????? Sorry to drag on about this. But the whole mess regarding the bond soundtracks is rather shameful when other expanded soundtracks are coming out the factories left, right and centre. No, it's not at all a drag to dig this topic out every now and then. Because it's indeed shameful and a drag that the controlling labels (EMI, SONY, MCA, whoever) have so little interest in something which is simply the most popular movie franchise on the planet which lasts 47 years now. And as long as the issue of the expanded Bonds is not solved once and for all there's always something gravely missing in the soundtrack collection of quite a few people around here, I presume...
