MR Jones came up with some great scores early in his career like THE DARK CRYSTAL, NATE AND HAYES, MERLIN, then his scores became ok but nothing special, Any thoughts on how if you agree with me he lost that magical touch? Don't get me wrong he still did good scores but those 3 were fantastic. Dark Crystal and Nate & Hayes were from '82 and '83, respectively, while Merlin was composed 15 years later in '98, so I don't know if I'd classify Merlin an early Jones score. I think Nate & Hayes is a likable enough score (with an enchanting love theme) but I am more impressed by Hideaway (1995) and Dinotopia (2000). Maybe he means Excalibur instead Merlin. Anyway I am agree that Trevor Jones composed better and more complex scores than those three later in his career (Cleopatra, Merlin, Dinotopia, The Last Of The Mohicans, Cliffhanger, Loch Ness, Rosseana's Grave, Dark City or Aegis) so dan the man affirmation is not true.
