Exactly. I sample every new score that comes out from the specialty labels, aside from ones that don't offer samples. Sometimes I like what I hear, like that new Delerue title from MBR, or I don't like what I hear, like that new Rob score from MBR (why not just hire Jan Hammer instead of getting boring third-rate Jan Hammer?).
I seem to recall one member who won't even listen to anything from before a certain decade. Or users that lists of upcoming interesting projects always boils down to a handful or so of big-name people like Giacchino.

So it follows that if one has limited taste, then it might not make sense to complain about a certain label not releasing something you'd want, even if we all understand feeling excluded. As it says in the New Testernet, "Judge not a soundtrack label, lest ye consumer be judged."
THE GREAT WALDO PEPPER album has probably the entire score on it. The film isn't heavily scored at all.
What's interesting is that Quartet got the rights to this especially considering Geffen Records recently reissued this and W.C. FIELDS AND ME as digital downloads not too long ago.
I'll be honest, I don't know any of these scores. So far I'm intrigued by the Ortolani though. I will give the samples a go, Quartet usually provide them generously.

Same here. Don't know any of the scores, but I'm familiar with all the composers.
This has a great Sousa-esque march, that's all I know about it...
that's pretty much the whole album :
" I do so hate martial music" -Ernst Stavro Blofeld "Diamonds Are Forever"

Disagree it all sounds the same. There's romantic themes, dreamy themes, marching themes. Period music yes, but unmistakably masked in Henry Mancini's modern soundscape.

I guess Ernst isn't buying that Watermellon either.
Seriously though, I'll probably get "The Great Waldo Pepper". In spite of the fact the film has a few truly disturbing scenes, I seem to recall liking the score. It's been decades since I saw the film, however.
