With this fourth edition including the special edition from sony the same year, that just absolutly nonsense,it's been a while than i din't buy anything from la la land, but in a positive way now i can spend my money for back to the future 2&3 and chain reaction.

Thank you so much for time and money invested, La-La Land! I'm so happy you do release one of my all-time favorite scores in its definitive edition, from the best available source!

So would you recommend this release to someone who still hasn't bought the "Home Alone" score?

Most definitely. It's a great Christmas score and one that shouldn't really be out of print given the movie gets played around Christmas every year. The first expansion La-La Land did plays excellent as I imagine this one will as well.

And with the album program also in print it gives fans a choice between both.

This release of Home Alone is complete and definitive and sounds better than ever before. You can sell off any prior edition of the score you have - this has everything you need in the best possible quality!

Only if you're a Williams completist I would argue. Otherwise you can just keep the perfectly fine edition from a few years ago.

Thank you to all of you for giving your opinions.
Now I guess I'm definitely going to buy this - for a Williams fan who still doesn't have the score in his collection, it should really be a must-have smile

The race with Intrada is stupendous! We're all drowning in classics!

I don't intend to be that guy, but there's still a few pieces missing to make this release definitive. However, I'm certainly not complaining. I'm eager to hear this improved sound quality.

Have you already had a chance to listen to the new release and compare it to the previous not so bad sounding LLL release? Just asking.

Truly a really unnessesary release!

Agreed...labels have GOT to stop re-issuing perfectly-fine albums to add two-minute scraps of "additional music" that mostly consists of source music or John Williams farting into a tuba.

What do you think is missing?

Yes. I wouldn't have said what I did otherwise.

It looks as though the labels are being allowed to access the source, not just copies, safeties or whatever else you'd like to call them. If you've ever made an analog copy of an analog original, there's nothing more to be said.

Well I think your thumb down, poor spelling and interest in BTTF2-3 and Chain Reaction is nonsense! It's all relative with these things.

We'll keep buying the tuba farting and you can keep not buying these fabulous releases, thanks.

I'm a bit on the fence with this one. I love Williams and I'm a big fan of Matessino's work so I don't doubt that this new edition sounds great. I like that the Clothesline Trapeze insert has been placed where it belongs. Jaws is supposed to be delivered to my house today... I'm basically drowning in good music!

Hmm... Well maybe if I manage to sell my old LLL set, I'll go for this one. In the meantime, my finances are otherwise occupied by Dances With Wolves and Braveheart. Maybe The Pagemaster as well.

I've conducted a Q&A with Mike Matessino about this release that should help explain the sonic upgrade this score has received, what new music you'll find on it, and answer any questions about the track list.

It will go live on http://www.jwfan.com/ this weekend!
