Guess I may as well mention that Liberty Valance sold out yesterday.

Wow! That was fast!

I've always felt golden age that sells the best are westerns, closely followed by adventure, action, horror, epics, biblical etc.

Congrats Bruce! smile

I have to say that it wasn't the FSM-like soundtrack fan who sold this out so quickly.

Who were the bulk of the buyers? John Wayne fans? John Ford fans? Or?

Just wondering ........

Let's just say I made sure the Wayne and Ford fans knew about it - and a LOT of it went to those folks. Certainly the clientele on this board was not all that interested, save for the folks who love scores from that era.

BTW, Liberty Valance shipped this morning.

Kind of what I figured Bruce. Well, this guy bought it for the music!

Glad to see it shipped this morning! smile

Congrats on your rapid sale of Liberty Valence Bruce.

I must also salute your gutsy approach in releasing titles such as The Spider. It's thanks to producers such as yourself and a few others like Mikael Carlsson of Movie Score Media that great 'unknown' music makes it to our all too often ungrateful ears. What may seem serendipitous to many, is in fact the result of your hard work.

Thanks again Bruce.

This is incredible! Thank you so much for this release! As a Dane, I've watched the series (which, by the way is spelled "Edderkoppen" in Danish and not "Edderkopen" :-P) quite a few times since its television debut back in 2000 - in fact one of my elementary school teachers had a relative who worked as a set decorator on the series - and one of the many things that always impressed and stood out to me was the incredibly atmospheric score with its many themes. Especially the main theme is a highlight for me - as soon as each episode starts, the music instantly sucks you in and transports you back in time to Copenhagen in 1949. So creepy and foreboding.. I love it!

Thanks again for giving this score the attention it deserves and making this release possible!

I, too, highly recommend the series - it's on DVD now - not the greatest transfer but still okay.

Well now, that ball went between those posts pretty fast. Is there a formula for this?

Can't say I blame you. It might as well be the 7th wave, as far as I know. wink

Again, the guy who wrote both THE CHAPLIN PUZZLE and EYE OF THE EAGLE gets my attention right off the bat. He hasn't done a lot but when he has he has separated himself from the crowd.

They're not two CD sets - there are two more volumes coming, the first of which is finished but the packaging stuff has just begun so it won't go in for approval for at least a week. There are several things happening right now, and I'm not sure when our next announcement will be, but it will most likely contain two releases.

We do have a show recording coming next week and it's a good one.

Had you asked that about Wallander when we shipped that, I would have said a LOT smile

And yet Wallander is just about gone - it took time, but I knew it would be a steady seller and in the last year alone it's sold over 600 copies. Go know. I suspect when people actually read some comments about this score or bother to listen to the samples or actually see the miniseries, that's when sales will happen. It's always shocking to me how you can't even get people to open a thread or listen to a sample. Soren is aces, a major composer and there's more coming and soon. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do and hope people will come along for the ride. If they don't, it's a bit of a loss for them if they're really film music lovers.

Is it your new, long-awaited recording of "And the World Goes 'Round?"

Ordered "The Spider" sight unheard - the description sold me. Looking forward to listening when it gets here in a few days!

I don't know exactly how imminent it is, but when I inquired about Kritzerland's upcoming fourth Goldsmith title just over a month ago, he said "I'm told it's next up to be worked on":

http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=94770&forumID=1&archive=0&pageID=3&r=504#bottom

Used to be Bruce had incredibly short turnaround times from "working on" to release date, but those have grown longer and longer over the past couple years. Still, I'd be surprised if it didn't show up in the next month or two...
