The latest series of this is just far and away one the best series on tv in recent times, probably pipped by Boardwalk empire and walking dead.
The dialogue is superb, the characters are spot on, some wonderful split-screen montages, good cinematography, excellent writing and direction, and effective music - the whole thing is film quality. Reminds me of No country for old men standard. Its that good.

Mostly though its the believable characters that stand out and the acting, from the sharp lines of mafia hitman mike millican down to kirsten dunsts scheming butchers wife, the indian tracker, the main cop, his sick wife, the slutty gerhardt daughter, ted danson and even that plank from Burn notice has put on weight, grown some sideburns and makes a great fist of the hotheaded Gerhardt son.

Any one else digging this latest series?

I am waiting until is it all out and then probably watch it all over the weekend.

How much different is the score when compared to series 1?

I am thoroughly enjoying this second season, probably a bit more than season one. As great as season one was, I felt it was still hewing closely to many plot and character elements from the movie. Its second season is much more its own animal and I find Russo's music even more pronounced and filmic.
