Looks like Varese has monopoly over my top 5:

Gremlins 2
US Marshals
Chain Reaction
Executive Decision
Air Force One

Of the ones available, I'll go with:

THE SECRET OF NIMH
MacARTHUR
THE OTHER
RUDY
POWDER

This, of course, does not include scores with lost tapes (IN HARM'S WAY, THE CHAIRMAN, QB VII, UNDER FIRE, etc) or ones with no release at all.

SCOTT

I think you nailed it. How amazing is it that we now have to search for titles that need a more complete release in the Goldsmith canon! Certainly there are titles like UNDER FIRE that could be expanded upon if the original film tracks were discovered, but I don't hold out much hope, as I'm certain Lukas would have done whatever it takes to locate the existing elements.

The Twilight Time Blu-ray release of THE OTHER has an iso score of music from the film as well as unused cues which is marvellous, but when I listened to it, there was an added reverb effect that seemed a bit strong. Definitely great to have the iso track, but I'd love La-la Land or Intrada to get their hands on what was available to Twilight Time and release a definitive CD of what I consider to be in the top 10 scores of Goldsmith.

1, The Ghost and the Darkness
2, Mulan
3, Small Soldiers
4, The Haunting
5, L.A. Confidential

TGatD is probably my last true Goldsmith holy grail. Mulan is probably very unlikely for now.
As for the other three, we'll have to wait and see what Varese will do.

I'll list a few titles (well, more than 5 ), not based so much on importance or desirability, but on the degree that that there is significant missing material. There are quite a number that would benefit from an expansion.

Our Man Flint (37 min.)
In Like Flint (31 min.)
The Lonely Guy (13 min.)
Warlock (14 min.)
Leviathan (19 min.)
Gremlins 2 (20 min,)
Love Field (18 min.)
The River Wild (25 min.)
Powder (27 min.)
Executive Decision (39 min.)
Chain Reaction (47 min.)
The Ghost in the Darkness (30 min.)
Air Force One (50 min.)
Deep Rising (30 min.)
US Marshals (36 min.)
Small Soldiers (35 min.)
The Mummy (32 min.)
The Haunting (32 min.)
Hollow Man (30 min.)

I've left out things which seem unlikely due to reported missing elements, such as THE CHAIRMAN and DAMNATION ALLEY. So that leaves:

THE SECRET OF N.I.M.H.
GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH
SMALL SOLDIERS
THE 13TH WARRIOR
HOLLOW MAN

But most of these are reliant on Varese doing the expanding.

There have been so many expanded and completes in the past 10-15 years that it's almost silly to ask this question. But there will always be some other title or two that I would like to see...

Legend. Yes the Silva Screen is wonderful and was expanded quite satisfactorily. I would still like to see the complete score make it out on a 2CD set nevertheless.

Powder. Despite the badly received movie and the surrounding controversy of it's director, Goldsmith's music terrific and the more subtle moments of the score were left out on the old OST.

The Omen. It's a historic work and it could use the full treatment! Ditto The Final Conflict.

Air Force One. So much great stuff missing!

Secret of Nimh.

I know The Omen is missing that sweeeeet synth pulse thing when the dog is "talking to" Damien, but is there really much else of substance missing from the updated Varese editions?

So many great ones, it's difficult to choose!

I would like a "GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH" disc to go with my FSM "GREMLINS" though. That I can tell you...

That released "Dog" cue is AWESOME!

It would be great to also have the alternate choral cue for those two scenes, the film version of "The Altar" and the a cappella dog-related chanting and alternate cues.

"The Fatal Fall" is ferocious and indispensable.

A complete definitive CD release of "The Omen" would be Essential film music.

There's something like five or six minute missing from the deluxe edtion of "The Omen", but that's not counting any potential un-used cue and possible alternates.

This list is like a kind of obsessive-compulsive therapy.

Except that the thought of 18 missing minutes of "Love Field" is potentially anxiety producing.

I caved in & bought the TT Blu-ray (which looks lovely), & made a CD from the isolated stereo music tracks (Blu > minidisc, edit minidisc > CD using my-on its last legs-Sony CD recorder), & it comes to just over 56 minutes. Fab score, & it's great to have that groovy intro, but I still prefer the bass guitar intro on the LP. Any time you like, Intradasmile

The Complete score to THE OTHER, is released as an iso score in the TT Bluray.

My picks:
LEGEND
SUPERGIRL

well, can't think of anything else right now...

Unfortunately all signs point to Legend, Supergirl, and Rambo II being held in perpetuity by Silva. I hope I'm wrong. They may even have some rights to Warlock.
