Nice story and yes on a do nothing Sunday afternoon in early September in 82 i was passing my local movie mall and I said to myself maybe I will catch a movie. So I said, my, which one should I see? I had 5 choices, i choose THE BEASTMASTER. The movie was ok , but I loved the music score by Lee Holdrige. So I think that week at lunch break during work I bought The LP.Great main theme.Another of many experiences where the music score was to me the best thing going to a movie.
While we are discussing a film from 1982- how about MAKIN LOVE-82- LEONARD ROSENMAN very beautiful and touching score which also included the nice ballad from ROBERTA FLACK.
....not the Andy Kaufman movie ....the wonderful Robert Mulligan directed film that starred a young Reese Witherspoon. Truly beautiful score...that and THE VILLAGE (another beaut) are my favourite Howard scores.
QUEEN OF THE NILE-62- CARLO RUSTICHELLI- Gorgeous main theme from one of the most prolific film composers of all time, Carlo scored films from the early 40's till the early 80's, well over 200 film scores. Of course underrated.
JAMES BERNARD did a lot of nice music in his career two of his most pleasing melodies I felt in his career were TASTE THE BLOOD OF DRACULA-70- LOVE THEME- SCARS OF DRACULA-70- LOVE THEME.
THE DAY TIME ENDED-79- RICHARD BAND- MR BAND has given us some nice themes and scores for low budget films, but his end theme from this low budget science fiction film is a glorious piece indeed.
