you get it now...

Yes, but it's always "Where's Highlander? Where's Highlander?" with you. The mindset of fans whose response to a new release is along the lines of "Yeah, that's great but when's (insert object of desire here) coming out?" is really annoying. Why not just appreciate or disregard what's coming out now?

Chill out, its a message board.

He sounded pretty appreciative to me, thanking the label and buying all three releases.
I'd imagine Quartet were happy to see his post.

A Passage to India is one of my favorites Maurice Jarre's score, also I like a lot of The Beastmaster - Lee Holdridge and very interesting Miklos Rozsa's title, great titles from Quartet.

I would like all 3 of these. I worry that they will sell out before I can get paid again. the office owes me salary dating back to October...grumble....being self employed sucks sometimes....

The Beastmaster Wow!!! Not too unexpected but WOW!! ... (is it complete btw?)

Everything from the surviving CAM master tapes was included. Between the original album and the expanded score presentation (each of which contains some unique takes/edits) I'd say upwards of 95% of the music heard in the film is on here. But there's also plenty of music that got cut from the film, and that wasn't used for the original album, that BEASTMASTER fans are going to be hearing for the first time!

If they are mono stems on the Rozsa, what's with that terrible echo-y fake stereo effect ("Gabrielle")? Why God, why?!? I think about one of the only guys on the planet who knows how to do fake stereo properly is Andrew Rose at Pristine Classical. Everybody else should just hire him or release in mono.

I will be all over THE BEASTMASTER! Well, in a manner of speaking... just meaning this metaphorically of course!

This is one of those seminal 80's scores for me, never owned it on CD so I am happy to see this expanded release.

I was lucky enough to pick one up at one point - one of my favourite scores of the 80's...this is a no-brainer for me...film remains a major guilty pleasure too...nearly had the chance to perform the "Suite" last year but was not to be...still one of those piece I HAVE to play one day...

I usually go for any Rozsa-conducted recording of his work, but after having another listen to the outstanding Tadlow re-recording (I hadn't played it for at least three years and had forgotten how excellent it is), I don't feel a need for the new release. If something is going to have to be sacrificed with all these new releases pouring forth from all the labels this Christmas, I feel it's this one.

But I've ordered the Holdridge and Jarre discs. I'm particularly pleased to see the expanded Beastmaster.

Yes to The Beastmaster (there is no such thing as too much Lee Holdridge available).

A tad pricey for me, but as I haven't been able to buy any of the other recent releases, I had to go for this one. Beastmaster was a major childhood favorite (getting to meet Marc Singer at ComicCon in 2006 was a big thrill), and while I have the Holdridge promo, the chance to own an expanded and remastered version was just too tempting to pass up. I would have happily ordered from Quartet's site, but it was a little cheaper for me to order it elsewhere, so I got it through Intrada. Which is only barely two hours from where I live, so it will get it really quick once it ships next week.

An early birthday present to myself. smile
