Sorry, I'm such a cynic. It's interesting that The List Of Adrian Messenger still hasn't sold out, or even at the low quantity stage. I think it's the double whammy of early Goldsmith & mono.

There's no way it'll sell out anytime soon, or ever. A virtually unknown film these days, mono, old. These do no sell. It's a brilliant score, beautifully presented. But since when does that matter?
I think it depends on the film, and the music itself. I like Adrian Messenger but it's an oddball film with a fairly oddball score from Goldsmith. Compare with Lonely Are the Brave -- that's an even older score, also mono if I'm not mistaken, but it's a WESTERN and maybe one of the greatest ever made, with one of Goldsmith's best scores. Hence, it sold out within a couple years without needing to be discounted, and is fetching high prices on the second hand market now.

Makes sense to me. Seems fair to do it that way. I can't imagine how much something like this costs to put together so having a raffle for those who pay to attend is a great thing.
