With only 1 new club release my chances of getting THE LIST OF ADRIAN MESSENGER are 99.999% nil.

Absolutely. This title is never going to happen. Even Sean Connery would agree. We have waited for decade on this one so might as well forget it.

Why do you believe this? I see this argument around here all the time -- "If it hasn't happened yet, it's not going to happen." But couldn't that have been said just a couple of months ago about "Breakfast at Tiffany's," or "Falling Down," or a hundred other recent releases?

Read in between the lines: Sean Connery would agree. " Never say Never Again" lol

lol!

Ordered both!
Of course, "List..." was in my "definitely-must-buy (as soon as they come)" CD list (big grin). But Varese did so good samples for Velázquez's score, that I made decision to grab it too. For my ear this will be fine score, and if not - bravo for Varese, 'cause they selected right music big grin

I find this interesting...
How was the mystery spoiled? When the titles leaked last time... were you not still surprised when you first found out?

If some half-wit sitting next to you in the theater leans over half way through a mystery play and tells you the identity of the villain, how would the mystery be spoiled? Wouldn't you still be surprised to find out whodunnit?

I was going to say that makes little sense, but actually, that makes NO sense. Finding out which title VS is going to be releasing on a website 3 hours before you're told by a DIFFERENT website is the EXACT SAME THING. You're just hearing the exact same detail 3 hours earlier. Someone revealing the end of a movie early... something designed to be a linear, narrative experience is totally different. But yes... if someone told me, "This movie is an hour and forty-two minutes" three hours before it started, I wouldn't feel robbed of the mystery of someone telling me the exact same information 5 minutes from start time. I found out that they are releasing The List Of Adrian Messenger here on FSM. Was I robbed of some experience because I didn't see it on the Varese website instead? I mean it doesn't start shipping until February 24th... isn't Varese ruining the surprise by revealing it so early?

It's a bizarre thing to complain about is all I'm saying.

I agree about "title" leaks. Why is finding something out at A time on B day, any different than finding out at X time on Y day? For Pete's sake!

For some on this board there is sort of a tradition to go to the chatroom when there's a Varese batch announced. When the titles get announced beforehand, it kinda ruins the surprise factor and the spontaneity of reacting to it and the speculation preceding it. That is all. If you haven't participated in it, of course it doesn't matter to you when the titles get announced. Why should it?

As for when titles get leaked; I do find something disturbing about an individual wasting time on continually surveilling servers for content that is up to the label or store to share or post on their site when it's appropriate to do so, but that's just me.

No, it is not just you. That individual just has nothing better to do with their time.

It's a more productive use of time than endlessly speculating about stuff!

Given that they own all the leftover grails, they would have to pump them out monthly to make avail their complete and massive catalouge without waiting 1000 years. LOL

I thought you was... in the know. In a few days it'll be five months since the last "batch".

Between Feb. 10 and May the 4th (Happy Star Wars Day people!), there's not even 3 months...

My wish list of today for next batch:
Dolores Claiborne,
Starship Troopers
and Air Force One.

It would be a cool beginning! big grin

Is one a batch?

When I think of old soundtracks being released, I don't even give Varese a thought these days.

Ha, one release so far this year. Doug. Fake & Bruce Kimmel would be run out town with that rate of releases.
