I don't have any insider or outsider information, but my guess for the 8 CD box set is eight discs of Variations On The Joker Theme of Hans Zimmer.

We know LLL has been working on TFTC for probably 4 years, it has to come out eventually.

Not to be a downer, but how long did they work on "The Storyteller"?

Stop being a downer!

I've thought about this one as well and it would be a dream release for sure! I'd happily upgrade the existing Varese releases for complete versions, especially part 1 & 3. The franchise deserves a release à la La-La's Friday the 13th boxset!

Spending 120USD for 8CD box set is quite challenging idea.

My guesses for box set: LW box, Young Indiana Jones box, DC animated universe box.
I would be pleasently surprised by "24" box set or Buffy TV series box set.

Can´t wait to see announcement on Fridaysmile

last i checked, Varese Sarabande owned the rights to the music from 24

I don't know if it's still up, but i actually listed this as a possibility when i heard of the boxset. this would be amazing... and hopefully we would get the complete score to each one as my favorite track from the first movie isn't even included on the soundtrack at all

Maybe for some. I'd consider it by far the most dire of all the possibilities mentioned so far.

If Ken Harrison's additional music to DREAM WARRIORS were included, I'd buy.

Maybe we are being too conservative with our guesses.
At the risk of becoming a bit more outlandish I'm going with an 8CD Harryhausen box set spotlighting Jerome Moross's complete score for Valley of Gwangi.

I suggested a Ray Harryhausen box last week. My suspicions were aroused when I saw that Twilight Time is releasing THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD and SINBAD AND THE EYE OF THE TIGER in December. Unfortunately, MV subsequently posted his cartoon that poked fun at the uselessness of all the guesses up to that point :-(

Until MV's cartoon, I was thinking such a set might make most sense. Apart from the Twilight Time link, a Moross score would also tie in with that composer's centenary. And the other composers would assure serious interest. Even Roy Budd's Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger is outstanding.
Gwangi would also tie-in with the cowboy-dressed monkey pic that was floating around earlier in the thread. And of course, the fantasy subject matter of these films is prime LLL territory. Most importantly, such top-notch repertoire would be well worthy of an 8CD set and the price asked.

MV... are you SURE it's not a Harryhausen set?

Sadly, yes. I would KILL for a set but the rights are all over the place for those titles let alone missing material.
