Can't download the liner notes as I normally do from the Kritzerland site. The link isn't working.

We've temporarily stopped putting them up - we'll probably go back to them in a bit.

That's a pity. They saved me a lot of scanning. I copy all my notes for use with the computer.
Please restore this facility!

We will, in fact I'll have him make Poltergeist live now.

Thanks guys. I'll have to watch the film again sometime. It was a childhood favorite, but its been many years. The score however, I've listened to regularly. And this new version is the best any fan could ask for!

If you can, try and watch the blu-ray, very nice transfer and good audio mix! Looking forward to hearing the new release.

Just wanted to say Poltergiest II was my first Kritzerland release. Not only do I have it in my hands already but have also listened to it. Phenomenal sound, and quick shipping! Will be buying from again! Thanks so much Mr. Kimmel!

...the little hidden Carol Anne's Theme that follows it is the film's final track minus the choir.

Best. Easter Egg. Ever.

I listened to it last night. Thanks for the fast shipping Kritzerland! Wonderful production all around. I'm very happy with the decision to include the phone-less "Late Call" into the main score presentation. Nice to have those 4 unreleased bits finally! The new mix is wonderful. Detailed and warm as promised. I didn't pick up on any odd phasing of instruments.

Regarding the 1st truncated album of this score, I think it was released domestically by Intrada and Varese overseas.

Thanks for revisited this one Bruce.

I just finished listening to the whole thing, bonus cues and all. I gotta say, "It's No Use" heard only with the choir is pretty amusing. It really couldn't have been easy to sing that off kilter, unwieldy music. "GOD - IS - IN - HIS - HO OH OH LEEEY TEMPLE!" Goldsmith really had balls to do this.

Got mine yesterday. Listened to some of it during my drive to work...

As soon as "It's No Use" (Choir) started, I nearly drove off the road. That is some disturbing stuff.

Listened to this many times since yesterday. And as someone who is really familiar with this score and has listened to it many many times over the years, I have to say that the improved sound mix is really fantastic. There are just so many little subtle nuances that become evident for the first time. Amazing job guys!

Hi Everyone,

Now that I'm in a position to actually buy Poltergeist 2 it looks like they're all sold out at BSX, SAE, Intrada, and moviesoremedia (and, of course, Kritzerland). Ebay already has it for $65AUS.

Does anyone know of any retailers that still stock it please? Or is it a case of "Too Late"?

Thanks in Advance.
Peter

There is no odd phasing - that was the biggest bunch of malarky I've ever read smile I'm telling you, both mixes were done from the original three-track mix-downs they did for the film - it's that simple. It's more about what we undid than what we did and the analogue source, which is so much nicer-sounding than the digital. The odds would be a million to one that Mr. Botnick did a separate mix for the original CD release or any subsequent release that would match exactly in every way, shape and form, orchestra placement, detail, and levels. Not possible.

Got my copy this afternoon, and gave it a spin tonight. This is the first time I've ever listened to the score outside of the fairly lousy movie, and I was duly impressed...while there's a lot of mid-80's "synth fart" effects, they're thankfully playing backup to an otherwise bracing, thematically diverse orchestral/choral score packed full of spooky nuggets. Superb sound, too...warm and bright.

Bruce, I have one more question if you could indulge me. Were there any other versions of cues on the master tapes that you were not able to include? Alternates or original versions? Thanks

-Rick O

Everything that was on the tapes was used. The only alternate was for that one short track and that's on CD 2. Believe me, I wasn't going to leave anything behind smile

We have tracking on all US packages and the customs numbers on all overseas packages.

Is there a way to check on the tracking numbers? I'm at work all day and the suspense is killing me. big grin

I am in Ohio and nothing showed up today...so I wouldn't get my hopes TOO high. But maybe you will get lucky!

Meh. I'm in the Chicago burbs so I won't get my hopes up. UPS already tried to deliver something else this morning but we aren't home and the Apt. office hadn't opened yet.

I'm in the chicago burbs as well, and mine came today- so you might get yours!

Not to get off topic, but I am in the Chicago burbs as well. I was certain I was the only person in this area who was obsessed with film scores lol. Nice to know I'm not the only one!

And yes, I am a virgin to Kriterzland releases.

I haven't received mine yet; I'm assuming there's no reason to hold on to the Varese version at this point?

Thanks so much Bruce for doing this! I'm listening to it for the forth time over 4 days. Just beautiful warm sound. Truly a treasure rescued! As for that "first one" - yeah - I haven't listened to it in years - use your own judgement.

Hey Mr. Kimmel,

I'm eagerly awaiting my POLTERGEIST II CD; however, I ordered it from SAE. Don't mean to be a pest or have you answer the same question a thousand times over, but: When do you send the copies of this title (or any other release for that matter) to outside dealers? Just trying to get a feel for when I can expect my CD. Thanks and again sorry for the query!

BTW, If the SAE folks are scanning this thread, maybe the answer should come from them.
