Wow, this is an awesome release.
FSM have really outdone themselves this time.
I'm hearing instruments and effects that were never audible on the original LP
All the unreleased cues are gold! What about that moog?!!!!

The most exciting, original, motion picture soundtrack event of all time!

This CD is nothing short of amazing. Everything you could want and more. Very grateful for the inclusion of the Petrox Marching Band tune. Thank you so much FSM.

Congratulations to everyone involved in producing this album. It is great indeed. I'm not really a big John Barry fan and I decided to buy this album solely based on its high reputation among fellow film music fans. And it's been played constantly ever since it arrived at my doorstep earlier this week. Sounds good as well. And really intelligent approach to scoring a film like this as well, which, to many Barry fans, might be an embarassing statement to make. But, as I said, he's not the best represented composer out there in my collection. Good stuff and I'm glad I bought it!

Night Wall Part 2. ; there is a 5 note bass line motif during the crescendo playing underneath all the
percussion, chanting and brass chords. This is so cool. I could always hear this in the film but never
on the original album.
If I am ever unfortunate enough to be sacrificed to a giant ape,
this is the music I want to go out with. smile

Been really enjoying the new set for the past 10 days or so.
Watched the movie last night. Not my kind of film at all, so back to the music!

Can't stop listening to it! I wanted this score since I was 10 years old - guess I'm making up for lost time.

Thank you to everyone involved... this release is outstanding!!

So true Steve. I just received this only this morning and having just played it am going to play it again, with details I'd never noticed before plus the unreleased tracks it's a thrill like listening to it for the first time again.

About to listen again, I'm in Barry heaven.

The alternates are so good that I sequenced them into the body of the score (which I never do).

I've placed Presentation alt.2 right after the main titles and it works great. I placed Fog Bank alt. after the film version of Fog Bank. Also placed alt. night wall and alt Trap towards the middle.

I've been doing this also.
I'm pretty sure, though I could be wrong, that Presentation Alt #1 made an appearance in the
extended TV cut right before "Presentation" proper.

I just put the first CD of this 2CD set into my iMac, and when I opened iTunes, it said the track names weren't available. Has no-one loaded these names to iTunes yet?

I had the same problem yesterday.

I get the same message:

"This CD was not found in the CDDB database.

You can enter information for the CD and each of its tracks. If this is a commercial CD, you can submit the information you entered to the database for others to use. See iTunes Help for details."

See Body Heat-Thread. Type it in! Do something for you and other soundtrack lovers. wink There might be different pressing batches, resulting in different calculated disc IDs. And others might have uploaded the tracklist to FreeDB, while iTunes is using CDDB. Two different things.
