Can't say I'm not disappointed, and this was my second most anticipated entry in the series (behind Lion King). Everything here has been on several releases of the last 10 years. It's certainly a nice track list, but nothing from California Adventure is not on the most recent park release (EDIT: Seasons of the Vine, and Beauty and the Bees aren't on the latest release, but can be found on the separate California Adventure CD, which is readily available and has a lot of exclusive content, so...), and the Disneyland representation will never live up to the big red box. I have so many different releases that make up what I have from here, so it's hard for me to guess, but I think there's really only a handful of tracks here that would have been exclusive to that Musical History of Disneyland set without this new release, so even for those who missed out on it, there's not much to gain here. I do love the art from these releases, and the cover to this is lovely, so I will lament missing out on it, but I can't justify purchasing this when I gain absolutely nothing new musically. I hope there are those who are excited by this, however, and give it a go, because I want it to succeed, if for nothing else than to gain a 3-disc (wishful thinking) Epcot Legacy Collection down the line.
I just got a release date update from Amazon that Cinderella is now coming out on May 19, moved up from June. Interesting development with the Legacy Collection. I wonder if any of the other dates will be moved around again.

A 2-disc set including the original restored soundtrack, 7 lost chords recordings and 9 bonus tracks.
On February 15 1950, the Walt Disney Company released Cinderella. Walt Disney Records will celebrate its anniversary by releasing the Walt Disney Records The Legacy Collection: Cinderella; a charming album that every music collector will enjoy.
Walt Disney Records The Legacy Collection: Cinderella is part of the overall Legacy collection line. Each one of the albums in this line is meant to be a collector's piece in terms of the album content and packaging art. To achieve the latter, each album will feature newly created artwork from Lorelay Bove, a visual development artist at Walt Disney Animation.

Once again, Disc 1 looks to be exactly the same as the previous discs for the score. Disc 2 looks to be the same demos/re-recordings found on the 2012 album with the addition of what appear to be portions of the J.A.C. Redford recording of the score (at least that's the closest I could find to those tracks on SoundtrackCollector).
Are tracks 15-23 re-recordings, then? Well, if anyone really wants the complete score, it's nearly isolated in the rear speakers of the Blu-ray/DVD.
Those tracks are taken from the Cinderella album recorded by JAC Redford in 1995. They are good but far from the complete score. Redford recorded 10 tracks, there are 9 mentioned here : maybe they merged the opening song with the prologue, maybe there is one missing (they like to do that on the Legacy Collection).
The rest of the 1995 album consisted of modern interpretations of the Cinderella songs. It was worthless garbage and it's nice that it is not here.

I assume this is the Linda Ronstadt cover version? I love the re-recording of the score but couldn't care less about the songs done by then popular recording artists. Seems I don't need this release either since I have all the previously released music. This continues the trend- No new score pre late 80's & 90's.
Sadly, I haven't purchased any of the classic scores from LC because they don't contain anything I don't already have or anything new that I want. When the LC was first announced over a year ago, I was sure I would be buying every release.
With the exception of the Lion King and The Little Mermaid, the rest of the Legacy Collection scores have been a big disappointment. This series would have been a great opportunity to give collectors unreleased music and re-recordings, etc, but instead it's just a fancy repackaging of already released material. Case in point with the Cinderella and Disneyland release. City of Prague should do a rerecording of classic Disney themes on one album with no vocals, just lush, orchestral arrangements. I would be buying that.
Pocahontas is coming in July, so there's a 'new' one. But honestly, I don't know anyone that'd be excited about anything related to that film, even the score.

The Menken expansions are worth looking into, but I still don't know why Pocahontas was the one chosen to expand. Beauty and the Beast would have been a better choice in my opinion.
What? The film Pocahontas might have a lot of flaws, but they aren't artistic ones. It looks gorgeous and IMO it is Alan Menkens BEST animated score...even better than Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Hunchback! See the movie again and listen intently to the music. This may be the best Legacy Collection title yet!

20th anniversary perhaps. I love the song and score, so I will gladly buy one.

I agree it's among Menken's best. "Farewell," for instance, is an amazing cue.
