Although the film is not topically related specifically to the 4th, Moross' The Big Country is about as American as it ever gets.

"Ya ever see such a Big Country?"

Any score by a great American film composer.

When I was in high school, American music was put down (1956-1960) and I argued with my teachers on this. Now after so many years listening to film music, especially by Americans, I am proud as punch.

But hope to hear Lincoln on the Capital Fourth program this afternoon.

Also, Air Force One. After the film came out, a local station used Jerry Goldsmith's theme when they kicked off their fireworks celebration coverage for the night. It went great with the visuals, and I began associating it with the 4th of July.

Okay, not written for film but what a great track.

p.s. If I had chosen a specific piece of film music the very first thing that entered my head before seeing lexedo's post was THE BIG COUNTRY.

3 scores come to mind.

Independence Day - A patriotic sense of fun. Great moment with the president's speech.
Apollo 13 - The tenacity, determination and genius of American ingenuity and bravery are front and center in the film, and captured perfectly by the score.
Glory - A film about heroism, patriotism and the values at the core of America's ideals.
