This is not the easiest of things to conjur ... as Armando Trovajoli started scoring films 60 years ago in 1952 and he's still with us!
My soundtracks of Trovajoli music is comparatively small with respect to the amount I have on Piero Piccioni.
Even so, owning between 10 and a dozen soundtracks by Trovajoli, I'd nominate his 1973 score for PAOLO IL CALDO as his most lyrical music that I'm aware of.

Along with both 'La Chiave' and 'Forza G' by Morricone and 'Tecnica di un Amore' by Alberto Verreechia, 'Paolo il Caldo' is one of the finest soundtrack to an erotic movie.
I would recommend also another lush & melodic score in which he pays a tribute to John Barry : 'Rapporto Fuller Base Stoccolma'.
Thanks for the help, guys. I listened to all of what you posted. Its not quite what I am looking for, so I am glad I didn't make any blind buys. lol
Any other scores worth sampling?
Yes, I feel certain there's more samples.
As for myself, I'm more partial to early 1960s orchestral scores, like HERCULES IN THE HAUNTED WORLD (1961):
It's interesting to hear how Trovajoli, without electronics & using acoustic instruments, creates psychedic sounds 5 or 6 years before psychedelia began to emerge in rock & pop music.
As for what you are looking for, I thought the samples above were plenty melodic. Could you describe why these Trovajoli themes are not what you are searching for?
Do you want Hollywood-type symphonic romanticism as opposed to Euro-flavored easy listening melodies?

The most lush, romantic and moving Trovajoli score for me is NELL'ANNO DEL SIGNORE from 1969 which has strangely not yet been mentioned here. Just try this track:
Mogliamante (Wifemistress) would be my pick, although unfortunately, there is no album, just the film itself. and it is not exactly available anymore either. Lovely score though.
Wow, great stuff all around! I especially liked the Commissario Pepe. In impusle I tweeted Luca from Digitmovies if they would consider releasing it - his answer: "I hope in the future :-). If you would like to send us requests please use our collector service at http://bit.ly/LxdJFY Bye". Sure, this can be anything but for a start hope isn't bad.
Nice Bill I just looked up Youtube to find a sample from Mogliamante
Yeah, that's all there is. That cover is what I have on an old 45 rpm EP with two pieces of the score. I enjoy it, but I don't like messing with 45's much anymore.

Despite enjoying Trovajoli very much, my collection is pitiful.
Who amongst the experienced can muster a top 5 AT works?
I haven't done any internal inventory on my Trovajoli soundtracks yet, but I think I own one dozen (11 CDs & 1 LP).
A top 5 on A.T. will also be difficult for me to conjur because, even though I've collected some of his albums over a period of 16 years, most of them haven't been listened to for long whiles. Only recently has my interest in Trovajoli been rekindled (prompted by Digitmovies issuing SEDDOK & LYCANTHROPUS). Armando's MACISTE sounds very engrossing to me based upon the SAE samples, but it will probably be a few months before I get that one.
So ... here's my top 4 (one-third of my Trovajolis):
ERCOLE AL CENTRO DELLA TERRA
SEDDOK / LYCANTHROPUS
IL FORNARETTO DI VENEZIA (1963)
MYSTèRE (1983) (coupled by Saimel with DOTTOR JEKYLL E GENTILE SIGNORA)
A tough challenge for me as I have evolved I've revolved around different ones as my tastes have shifted.
La Visita / Alta Infedelta counts as one choice three scores on this disc every listen is like the first time fresh never get tired of listening to them.
Ercole Al Centro Della Terra don't play this one as often think in a way it is so that I can still feel its magic every time I listen.
America Paese Di Dio Trovajoli/Lavagnino a great combination but needs some editing to remove some tracks.
Contenders for a slot:
COME, QUANDO, PERCHE' Very much a long time favorite this could just as easily be in slot number one dreamy music, don't listen to this one to often these days maybe over played it a bit.
Sometimes it seems I have tastes at the opposite range of some other members here, but here it is:
Dramma della gelosia (1970) La famiglia benvenuti (1968) Sette volte sette (1968) L'arcidiavolo (1966) Il vinchingo venuto dal sud (1971)
Also Il gaucho (1964), Il commissario pepe (1969)
There are no Trovajoli albums that I do not like, but I am no big fan of: La banco di monate (1975), La più bella serata della mia vita (1972), L'urlo dei giganti (1969) and Il Fornaretto di Venezia (1963)
