I was wondering if anyone knows which titles have sold out the fastest at all of the collector soundtrack labels, like for La La Land was it 1941, Godzilla, Innerspace, Big trouble in little china, die hard, or something else?

For Intrada was it cliffhanger, young guns ii, robocop, the deep, predator?

For Varese, was it the original releases of Die hard or Predator or the goonies?

If anyone from the labels want to reveal the answers too that would be great.

Can't wait for Hook and Star Trek VI smile

I'd say INVADERS FROM MARS. I have to wake up a friend of mine to try to order a copy for me at 3am (back then it used to be anounced at 2:15 am) but still we couldn't make it in time and it was gone in less than 1 hour.

Star Trek VI won't sell out, since Intrada will have it unlimited or "available while quantities and supplies last."

With FSM, I don't think anything topped "Towering Inferno".

Well it depends a lot on the amount of copies they pressed; there have been instances where Roger and Doug underestimated demand (Predator, Link) which caused fast sellouts and led them to switch to the 'unlimited' scenario.

Regarding Varese, I'm not sure if Die Hard, Predator or even Commando sold out that fast, back then it'd still take a month or so for those titles to go (which is still pretty fast considering)

Most of the Varese Club 1000 copy have sold out fairly quickly. The Herrmann box is probably the quickest sold out title of any of the premium price releases.

La-La Land's Star Trek V sold out in one day.

Nope. I believe La La's Star Trek V took about 4 months; from december to march? Goonies I think took about 5 days. Intrada's Predator I believe was under 24 hours.

LLL's Friday the 13th sold out pretty quickly, IIRC. Particularly for a box set.

I checked again and you were right. For some reason, I saw a listing that claimed one day.

The La-La Land record is one day but held by Commando. Second best is two days, held by Die Hard.

Goonies took a while, I remember that.

I think the fastest sell-out (or one of them, anyway) was Intrada's Delta Force, at around 6 hours. I also know their Two Flags West/North to Alaska CD sold out pretty quickly.

Baby should be on the Intrada list, it sold out overnight, & Inchon sold out very fast & the Fox two-fer North To Alaska/Two flags West also sold out overnight. I think Cliffhanger took about a week to sell out.

Intrada's Inchon 2 disc release sold out fairly quickly too as did Capricorn One.

Intrada's fastest sell-out was probably INCHON or BANDOLERO.

Nothing to brag about, it means the market was misjudged.

Cheers

I would love a rerelease of Bandelero. One of several releases I am still kicking myself for missing.

Tell me about it! The only time I have been truly gutted over missing a release....I was on holiday away from a PC for a week and had no hint that SpaceCamp was coming...by the time I got back (I was only away for 4 days), it has been announced, released, and sold out. Truly f***ing gutted!! Thankfully they appear on certain auction sites quite a it, but no way of telling which disc is contained...I will grab it sooner or later though smile - part of the thrill is in the hunt, right?

It really is such a stupid situation having releases available for only a day or so before selling out. Fortunately we won't have that issue with any further Intrada releases. Plenty of time to grab them before they're gone. Having so many quick sell outs and having so many people missing out is why Intrada changed their policy. Gawd bless 'em.

Of course it doesn't help for titles such as Bandolero, RoboCop, Predator, Link, SpaceCamp, etc. I know people complain about the number of rereleases but I guess part of the problem is people not being able to buy them the first (or second) time around because they had one day away from a PC. So hopefully these titles can be released again at somepoint.

Well from the point of view of the label it means that their stock is gone and they have immediate cash.

I'm sure there have been fast selling Kritzerland titles? Bruce?
