I can't help myself, but this one's one hell of a ride...it's currently blasting through my speakers, and it rocks. Not much originality and/or musicality to be found, true, but I simply dig it.

Anybody else or am I once again the black sheep? wink

I like it.some of it is on my mp3 player.I gave it a bash yesterday. It's no work of art but still enjoyable.I also like Maire Brennan's use..It's quite ballsy in places.

I remember liking it while watching the totally forgettable film some months ago...something I'd like to check out when I get the money. Seemed to be rooted in the ethnic/power anthem-mode I like so much, sprinkled with one or two "textural" ideas that he's been doing a lot for the last 6 years.

I like it, and I like the song, too (which uses themes from the score, or vice-versa.)

I love the score as much as I like Gladiator and The Last Samurai. As was previously stated, it's not the most original score, but it works well on CD and in the film; IMO, originality doesn't automatically = great. The CD itself covers most of the best parts of the score, but is still missing a little. Can't complain though!

I like it too, but haven't listened to it for a while. I've got to go out later today, so maybe I will listen to it in my car then.

Update: Said car trip has been accomplished, and I listened to the soundtrack. I agree that it is a very good soundtrack, it's just a pity that the film is not up to par.

I admit, it's a guilty pleasure of mine. Same as THE LAST SAMURAI.

I know I like it, like The Last Samurai, but I haven't played either of them recently.
No film music-redefining masterpieces, but perfectly enjoyable. I don't expect every new score to be a classic masterpiece, especially with such people Goldsmith and Bernstein gone and Williams working sparingly (and then, it depends on the movie).

Going through my collection to re-arrange everything these past few days, I saw lots of CD's I thought I should listen to again, but of course there were too many to satisfy the urge and keep in mind.

Playing right now: Eight-Legged Freaks.
King Arthur might be next this afternoon. But then, come the time, I may not be in the mood to.

Yes, it's a nice score. I'll probably buy the CD if I find it cheap some day.

Can you believe it, not one negative remark so far?!

The director Antoine Fuqua has been quite consistent on his composer choices in his career - Harry Gregson-Williams on The Replacement Killers, Mark Mancina on Bait and Training Day, and Hans Zimmer on Tears Of The Sun and King Arthur. Let's see who he hires on his upcoming 3 movies.......

Do I, uhm, like it?

Uhm..... no!

(But I do like his THE LAST SAMURAI - now THAT's a good score!)

YES! Emphatically YES!

I play this score much too often. Actually, I made a cut and paste mix of all my favorite actions bits and have this really long track that never relents! "RUS!!!"

got the soundtrack when it first released, and was impressed by the music. It is very powerful. With the soundtrack in my mind I had to go see the movie which was released later, and the start of the movie was excellent if i remember. But that was all, the rest is terrible, so now i just like hearing the score.

I know I put this on my Top Ten Overrated Scores of the 2000s, but I've slowly changed my opinion since then. In comparison with the scores that Zimmer has been in charge of lately, King Arthur is simple, straight-forward, loud and fun.

Actually King Arthur is one of the few Zimmer scores I like from the 2000s. At the time it came out, people were already burned out on Gladiator and kept comparing.

I think King Arthur is a great score. Although I have never seen the movie, I have listened to the cd several times. "Hold the Ice" is a favorite track of mine. I also like the song at the beginning of the album.
