Don't know enough yet to have thoughts, and won't pretend I'm clairvoyant. Glad to see "Concord Music will retain Varèse Sarabande’s staff."

Hope those remaining titles in perpetuity don’t get lost forever.

They're not that smart smile And who couldn't have predicted this would happen. People tire of their toys.

Cutting Edge's nurturing of Varese's heritage reminded me very much of Isis' involvement with Syrian antiquities.

Darren Blumenthal has been running Varèse for the last 5 years, what on earth did he do?

Hope the new owners have more love for scores from the past than the previous owner. Varese was the greatest label in the late 70's through the early years of the 21st Century. I wish for them a "rebirth".

That's a ridiculous and disrespectful comment.

Have you met him in person? I have, he's a passionate man. Why are some of you being so disrespectful???

Furthermore, I hope they will make deals with major studios like Universal and Warner Bros.

For archival or new films? I can tell you a lot of the reason these studios are mia in archival limited editions involves cost and are not cheap. I believe Varese has been putting out projects from Warner Bros.

Any chance these guys want US Marshals and AFO deluxe editions out? I hope so! Or is it game over?

Concord has a proven track record of buying good labels and allowing them to be themselves. I have a few friends over there and it's a great company. Varese is in good hands.

Agreed! If anything, this seems like Varese's future is even brighter

Is this the same Concord that bought and ruined Telarc a few years ago?

Wikipedia says that soon after takeover by Concord Music Group "Telarc announced it would cut twenty-six jobs and that it would also stop producing its own recordings. These job cuts included the highly regarded, multi-award-winning production team. Telarc's founder and former president Robert Woods resigned in March 2009 and was replaced by Heads Up president Dave Love".

Different company and not the same management. If you want to come at me with this nonsense, your right, but the facts are facts. Under their current ownership they buy razor and tie, leave them alone...rounder, leave them alone, bicycle music, leave them alone.
