The film THE SPECIALIST has this love theme titled "Did You Call Me?". I was wondering if there were any lyrics to this theme and if anyone knows where I can find them?

Yeah, I just recently bought it. I have been wanting it for awhile but kept seeing the other soundtrack with songs from the film which I did not want. However, I found this one on eBay for a few dollars. I really like this score in so many ways.

I don't think there were any lyrics.
It wouldn't surprise me if JB wrote the piece with a possible song in mind. That would be fitting with JB's form.

Sorry to bring the negatives to such a positive party, but I've never been able to play The Specialist CD all the way through.
The recording sounds quite low or muted for starters, but my main problem is the actual music and themes.
Now, while I wouldn't call myself a die-hard John Barry fan, I have long admired his style and music and would list many of his scores and themes as big favourites (Lion In Winter, Walkabout, King Kong, High Road To China, Somewhere In Time and Dances With Wolves just to name some).
But I can't find anything in The Specialist that grabs me in any way, shape or form. It just comes at me like a ponderous, dull, slow-moving, dare I say turgid, dirge.
And what about those tracks titles!!
I know Horner can be a bit long-winded and pretentious with some of his cue titles and Giacchino recently came under fire for 'aping' around with his  but those 'sections of script' ones are ridiculous (Get the hell outta here you bastard...How do you feel?...Better...Did you call me?...No...Oh, must have been those friggin cold callers again....I've told them not to call while I'm havin me tea). Just no need.
I didn't pay big for it (quite the opposite) so it's no biggie. I must move it on to a more caring home.
Anyway, sorry for my intrusion, glad to see it has much love. Do carry on

You can sing “Did You Call Me?” to the opening few notes. Perhaps this gives us an insight into how the theme was composed, much like how Mark Snow has said his X-Files them came from riffing on “The X-Files is a show/With music by Mark Snow.”

Ok, I spent the early part of my morning writing lyrics to this song. I will only say this, I am not very good at writing music let alone lyrics, but I felt inspired and besides it's John Barry and I have been a fan of his since age 2. Please feel free to comment or criticize. I don't think I will ever compete with the likes of Don Black but I'm a big boy and can take it on the chin, even from this tough crowd. There WERE lyrics to this tune. The lyricist tried to call Barry to read them over the phone, but Barry missed the call.
Can you elaborate more on this story? Who was the lyricist? Or are you pulling my leg?
