Thought this might interest Goldsmith fans.
UNDER FIRE has been announced by Twilight Time for an October release, in the usual limited 3.000 copies.
The release probably will include an isolated score too as almost all of its releases!
Have never seen the film, nor listened to the score except a piece..

Now, I would love to see EXTREME PREJUDICE released on Blu Ray, so I can throw out the awful DVD version that I have...
If you have a Region Free player, Extreme Prejudice has been released in Region B Bluray.

I thought the tapes were lost on this one. Where did the iso score come from?
it's not confirmed yet. It's a guess of mine, since all of TT's releases, except one I think, have iso scores.
By the way, it doesn't mean that it will be the complete score.
Eg. some Blurays had a score + effects track, and in others, the iso score didn't include the complete score but only those cues that were available.
By the way, there is this comment by someone in their facebook:

I don't know what does that mean. It definitely means that the isolated score WILL be included, but I'm not sure if it will be complete.
And I didn't understand the part about the 2cd set..

I guess this means the original tracks may also come on CD.

Lukas posted in 2011 about the FSM release:
We could not find any master tapes to use to expand the previously issued program but I’m not sure it would have even been a good idea: Goldsmith meticulously crafted the album with unique takes, sweeteners and mixes so that it would stand alone as a listening experience.
So obviously the lost tapes were confirmed, but have since been found. Kind of makes you wonder what else may have been found when they were located.

So is the music in the movie also a different recording than what's on the album or just re-edited?
Now that`s quite a complicated issue. According to the FSM liner notes a lot of cues that Goldsmith rearranged for the album eventually appeared in the film since Goldsmith could convince the producers that his album versions were more interesting, Which means that most of the score in the film also appears on the album. With 2 major exceptions. First of all the rather short main title but most importantly the very important action cue “Alex`s Death” when the Somoza soildiers chase Nick Nolte. Now there`s a huge difference between the album and the film version. The film version is a wonderful action cue that has all the Goldsmith action trademarks. The album version called “Bajo Fuego” is sort of a Goldsmith concert version of that cue. It`s absolutely beautiful but I woild love to have the film version as well. Just for this single piece I would instantly buy a new complete Under Fire edition since "Under Fire" is one of my favorite movies (unbelievable that the same director is responsible for garbage like "Stop or my mom will shoot"!) and one of my favorite scores.

But with the important difference that in the case of "Under Fire" the rearranged album tracks apparently replaced the original score tracks in the final film with the one major exception of Alex`s Death / Bajo Fuego.

So in that case presumably there are *unheard* film recordings!
