I concur....A well-deserved forced departure.

He also deserves thanks for asking people to stop slowing the site by posting and reposting great big images which has worked really well.......................oh, wait.

I was seriously thinking about starting this thread myself, so needless to say -- 10-4 good buddy. I'm drinking a toast to Allardyce this very evening. Maybe more than one, for that matter...

Seemed to be the Senn-sible thing to do.

From his last posts it seems to me he may suffer from schizophrenia. I've dealt with many in the past. That's too bad, whatever may be the cause.

It is a shame he let loose all at once on what he felt about things, But to be honest that last thread was raw for even the most jaded adult, no less some sensitive minds around here, ladies included. What was that xxx explosion he let loose? ok some people love to see penis action but what is the inner anger of it all and I can do without his constant attack against the beloved sense of wonder genre. But otherwise he was a good guy with some insightful remarks. It is sad though when they get banned here it's goodbye forever, one can get used to some people and you will never here from them again. like if JIM PHELPS EVER LEAVES, I am going to miss being pick on [ha-ha]

Well, it's unfortunate, but I don't blame David / Allardyce for banning Senn, given the thread that prompted it. That just doesn't fly on this board.

That said, I will miss Senn. I don't know what the hell possessed him to post that; perhaps it was just a seriously misjudged attempt at April Fool's Day humor, or perhaps it was something more than that. But prior to that bizarre outburst, I think he was a valuable contributor to our board, though obviously not valued by all. He brought out a really nasty side in some people, but that's not his fault, and though he could have done a better job of responding to them sometimes, it's too bad there was a reason for him to do so. Perhaps he made other obnoxious posts here that I somehow missed and that earned him the treatment he got, but from what I read of his posts I think he got treated fairly badly here a great deal of the time, and I hope the next online community he finds is more welcoming.

a better equine-free world for the rest of us.

Mmm... nah. I think there'll still be pony talk around here (and I personally think the place will be better for it, myself, but perhaps that's just me).

Thanks, Joe!

I wanted to make a similar posting but given the delicate nature of this matter and my natural inability to deal proper and effectively with the English language, I decided against it.

And now you've said exactly what I wanted to say, but hadn't been able to! Thank you very much!

I'd like to end my posting by pointing out that Senn's final ... well ... message(?) to us, is unfortunately by far not the only comment here that IMHO should have never been posted at all - for the sake of a more welcoming atmosphere on these boards!

I think we'd all do better if we constantly keep in mind that even in the abstract world of the WWW certain rules of good behavior still do exist!

If I had to sum it up in a few sentences. He was attacked more then he attack. True justice is often rare in life. But as you say there will always be restrictions that has to be abide by on boards like this. What is that true statement, total freedom is the same as total tyranny.

He had to get kicked for that final post. That was hands-down the stupidest, most offensive and obscene post I've ever seen in my over 10 years here. It was almost like he was asking for it.

Ironically like in most cases of bullying, the bullies got off scot free while the one who retaliates got punished. I will admit he pushed it too far himself. I enjoyed his posts when they weren't agenda driven, and will miss those contributions.

I think you guys have to understand that Senn apparently has some sort form of Asbergers, a type of autism, and this type of compulsive and focused behavior tends be a common symptom and, Internet forums play a role in encouraging and intensfying it. Unfortunalty, this behavior seems to have gotten the best of Senn.

So, I don't know...

Thanks. I don't know how I missed this post earlier, but somehow I completely bypassed it and saw only TG's. I'm getting more amazingly unobservant than ever. embarrassment I've edited my earlier response accordingly.

I think the internet tends to amplify all kinds of aberrant behavior, even amongst otherwise well adjusted people. It's amazing how many times otherwise interesting discussions get derailed by a pissing contest between a few particular users.

Regarding Senn, I agree that, on balance, he was a valuable contributor to the forums. I feel badly that his obvious love for My Little Pony and other animated fare made him the target of bullying. That said, he did often go out of his way to provoke that reaction in others and in the past couple of weeks was going out of his way to lash out at posters. I sort of wonder if he was just done with this forum and made that last post to get deliberately banned rather than just walking away.

Senn, if you are reading this... try not to let jerks on the internet get you down. There's too much to enjoy in life and, at the end of the day, they're just soundtracks... you can't take 'em with you.

Chris.
